Either the crystal like you said or MP potions.

There isn't a "fast" (like sitting to regen MP) method, but I've been playing CON since the beginning and I hardly ever run out of MP. After getting the radiance ability, you can spam that fairly often to regain a bit of MP (it adds up over time.) I find that I still have 1/2 MP left by the time my Tranquility timer rolls around.

If you don't play CON sorry if that didn't help. I only got THM to around 8 for Slow so I don't know much about their abilities.

Nice way to dance around, "Use Tranquility."

Conjurers and Thaumaturge both get abilities on 10 minute cooldowns that restore up to 50% of your max MP. Between that and aetheryte you should be able to keep up the grind at a decent pace until you get Radiance (Conjurer) and/or Damnation (Thaumaturge) which are weapon skills that restore mana equal to 5% of the damage you do with them. Then at rank 16 THM you can get Stygian Spikes and all of your solo mana issues go away forever.

Well the advice of just use tranquility didn't seem like good advice. Before I got radiance I always relied on that tranquility timer, even having to wait on it to be able to get any bit of MP I could. After I got radiance, I got way more mileage out of the MP I had.

Point was, the guy asked the most basic question and nobody even thought to point out what Tranquility/Exaltation are. You'd be amazed at how many casters I come across that don't even realize they have it. You mentioned it in your response but didn't explain what it was. And pre-rank 10, there's no Radiance/Damnation.

Hence, use Tranquility.

Try to get MP siphon “Thaumaturgy R20”, it will give a great assist to your Conjurer. This ability will a allow you as Conjurer to drain MP from any mob “shouldn’t be a mage mob” for around 35~90 MP, for every 75 seconds.

If you use this ability with spirit bind, probably, you might not need the MP from the crystal or from Tranquility.

You play GLA?
change to Conj, equip tranquility to the third row of your hot bar,(I say third row because it will be out of the way and can stay there indefinitely) switch back to GLA and play. The ability is 0 slot points, so it will NOT unequip itself when you change over to GLA. Every 10 minutes, you can change to conj and instantly use the ability, because the cooldown timer will have already reset, and it has remained in your hotbar the entire time.
No mp problems for GLA anymore. ^.-

equip to thm or con MP restore move when your low switch to either job and use it and they do have the own cooldown so you can use both as long as you have both jobs weapons with you :).

i have DD stats and i never run out of mp you need better mp management.

As a Gladiator, here are the ways to regen mana fast:

Step 1:
Get THM and CON to 10, Put Radiance and Damnation on your bar. Use those WS. This gives very little MP back on based on damage dealt. It helps you lower the MP strain.

Step 2:
Get THM to 16. Use Stygian Spikes on yourself. This gives you back MP whenever you get hit, awesome for tanks.

Step 3:
Get THM to 20. Use Siphon MP after each fight since it accepts corpses as target. This regens about 40-110 mp per cast.

The idea of lugging around THM and CON weapon, switching job, then using tranquility/Exaltation is also a good one, although I find it very annoying in the long run, and I only use it if the above 3 steps fail at keeping my MP topped off.

Under that situation, yes, your only fast option is the crystal or node which basically keeps a leash on you.

When I venture far from crystals I have resorted to spamming Radiance on the wee mobs or even switching over to conjurer and waiting ten minutes to use Tranquility to restore MP then switch back to my Marauder.

I am currently working towards Stygian Spikes because of this very issue.

EDIT:

Whoa. I will try this. Thanks!

people don't read. You don't have to wait 10 minutes. If you left the ability equipped, it will still be there. scroll up and read for more detailed instruction. ^^

This is not the way to handle it. As mentioned a little earlier, put Tranquility (and the equivalent Thaumaturge skill, if you have it) on your second or third bar and just leave it there. It will never unequip so its timer will never reset - ie, no downtime. Switch to Conjuror, use it, go back to your melee class. Fifteen seconds, tops.

EDIT: darn, too slow.

Another vote for leaving Tranquility on your bar somewhere forgotten.
I also do this with the harvesting jobs' run speed buffs, so I can switch to a harvest job, scan for the closest node, and if it is further than 200 yalms away, pop the other scan for run speed.

I'm wondering if that's because some people don't realize they get it after progressing so far in their city's initial quest.

Also, what's Brilliance? I thought the equivalent THM skill was Exaltation. Did they change it?

I had the THM ability name confused. I haven't touched THM in weeks :P

^This.

Plus, get a rank 1 Thm scepter and put Exaltation next to Tranquility, they are on different cooldown timer so you can regen your mana every 5 mins instead of 10.
