Last night my husband and I decided to go to the other cities! To me this was like "ROAD TRIP!" Of course our way was pretty easy...we only died twice trying to get there. However, when it came to getting to Mor Dhona (sp?), that was a different story >_<: trying to sneak past **** Benders is like a bull walking through a china store! Did not happen :/ So how did you get to that area? Did you need help? Higher levels? or is there a sneaky way around those boogers that I don't know about >_>;?

I got to Mor Dhona through Coerthas, which I entered via the Black Shroud. didn't have much trouble except for the vultures or buzzards or whatever and I got sneezed on by Antelop Stag once.

I stopped by Coerthas briefly last week and made a point of visiting the aetheryte at the camp closest to Ishgard. I figured it might be handy to have...I expect that when Ishgard opens, everyone will have to make at least their first trip there on foot and if that's the case, I'm a port and a 3 minute run from glory!

coethas is probably easier, but i made it through via thanalan, and sneaky sneaky much fun heartpounding ninja skills XD. Always great fun trying that, and when you get there its like 0.0 this was sooooo worth it.

I went exploring this weekend as well with gf and managed to hit most of the gates in Coerthas before deciding to go to Mor Dhona. But there was a stretch of open plains with nothing but raptors and inferno drakes. She got aggroed shortly after and we had to start again at camp dragonhead. Tried agian and died again.. is there a safer path to take or do we just have to be extra careful and patient to get past this region? Both of us are around rank 21 so its pretty much 1 shot kill from the drakes even with stoneskin up. The vultures were easy enough to dodge but the drakes seem to have longer aggro range than other mobs.

On a side note, we did fight a black ewe in coerthas and that was one incredibly fun fight!

I made it through that stretch without any deaths. I'm pretty sure raptors are the same as in FFXI, aggressive towards sound. Give them plenty of room, but don't don't worry about them seeing you from a distance. The drakes and peistes detect by sight, so you can run right behind them and be perfectly fine.

Most of all, don't make a move past a scary monster if you think it might move soon. there's nothing worse than almost making it behind a drake and it turning around to get a good look at you.

I actually found it easy to get into Mor Dhona through cutter's pass in Thanalan - there is a narrow part with wolves but it wasn't too hard to get through. That entrance is far from any gate in Mor Dhona, however...
