I know I've seen it around more than once, so I grabbed this screen that speaks of it. I was hoping other users had seen some and we could compile the info and see if we can't gain some insight into what might be over there.

This specific leve talks of consuming the raw flesh of fish, which is a unique characteristic of Miqo'te if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps it's where they're from?

This one mentions a 'trading company' which is traditionally associated with pirates, so there's that.

Please add anything else you've found with reference to the Far East.

People actually read leve descriptions? They should make a CS with dialog with the client IMO, like in PSO.

Anyway, feudal japan expansion? Yes please.

I'm sure if/when it becomes an important story line element (or we gain access to it), it will be in a nice cut scene. But to ask for a cut scene for every leve is asking a bit too much, me thinks.

Only thing I see on the map to the east is the Garlean Empire.

Oh, and yes, I read the level descriptions. It's the only thing that keeps them interesting ~.^

My memory might be playing tricks on me, but I'm quite sure in phantasy star online you'd get a small cutscene at the beginning of each mission. Just a small conversation with the client, explaining his needs. It was a lot more involving than XIV's text description.

In fact, the leve system is a phantasy star online rip off if you think about it. They had the hunter's guild, with a counter where you'd pick up missions, then go to the main gate with your party and it'd warp you to the area and begin the mission directly...

I think I even enjoyed PSO more lol shame they closed the servers.

I think unique characteristic of Miqo'to eating raw fish has more to do with them being cat people more then about where they're from. ;-)

ffxu talks of far east as well most refrences are japan. As samuria and ninja are far eastern professions. But yes mithra was able to eat raw fish because they are cat ppl. Its a cat steryotype. (sp). Like saying all cays eat fish, chase mice and love to drink milk. In reality not all cats eat fish, some cats are allergic to milk. And cats never ate mice they mostly play with them.. the mice typically die of heart attack from being scared.

i think his main point is the whole "lacking" aspect of FFXIV.

That's what Online RPG's do.

XIV's system is hardly a rip-off, as it turns the system into an MMO environment without taking away (all) the convenience an online RPG such as PSO offers (like having your own quest mobs instead of being forced to share them).
