Alas, all good things must come to an end. For those of you back to work tomorrow (or already back to work for our friends on the other side of the IDL), it's time to post how you did on your goals!

I wrote:
<crafting stuff>

Conjurer rank 14 -> ??? (goal is 20, but depends on how much crafting I do)
Thaumaturge rank 18 -> ??? (goal is also 20, but again depends on crafting)
Gladiator - lol Won't be time.

Much crafting. Many craftings. Alchemist 20 -> 21 on crystal -> shard synths. Leatherworking 22 -> 24 on dodo leather bits with enough dodoskin left over to take me well into 25. Didn't touch any of the iron nuggets (actually just added to the pile >.<) or the cotton yarn (also added to the pile >.<), but I did have a great night for guild marks from local leves. 8 leves done tonight, 5 awarded marks. For a brief time, I actually had more leatherworking and weaver marks than I did armorer despite having started on rank 20+ leves for armorer almost a month before the rest. Then I got ~900 armorer marks from my second to last leve for this reset :D

Also got conjurer 10 -> 16 and found out that north forest Lone Wolves in the Black Shroud are nasty in pairs, resulting in death #7 since launch, but tons of fun. Why Gridania got the lion's share of aggro mobs I don't know, but now that I'm past dodoskin for skillups with tannery, I'll be getting to know the wolf population quite well >:D

Your turn!

Edit: I also just found out that my NPC companion is a ****. This was her dialogue to me when I met up with her in Gridania for the rank 26 Ul'dah nation mission:

I took the liberty of contacting an old flame in the locality, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the sylphs' sanctuary. He was very obliging, I must say. Oh, and he also pointed me in the direction of Camp Nine Ivies. Let us make haste there before he wakes up and finds that I am gone!

If she wasn't so hot, I dump her.

Hoping for Pugilist 42->44. Will be satisfied with 43 and a half.

I didn't realize how ridiculous of a goal I set until I started grinding that night. Thanks to some crazy Japanese grinders and Jaguar Stronglove I accomplished it. Working at R45 now. ^^

Kinda got on a crafting rush this weekend since my best friend is on a business trip and I don't want to leave him in the dust by ranking Archer any further. Lessee... I don't have the exact numbers but...

Armorer and Blacksmith : Finally took up the last two crafts... hit 9 in Armorer and I think 8 in Blacksmith.
Leatherworking : Started at 16 and I either hit 19 or I'm just about to.
Alchemy : Started at 18 and I'm about halfway to 20.
Weaving : Started at 13 ... I think I'm at 16 now.
Goldsmith : Up 1 or 2 ranks to 12.
Mining : Started at 6 I think... hit 12.
Thaumaturge : Just started it before the weekend... got it up to 6.
Sentinel : Hit 8 (while doing leves as Gladiator)

I didn't really touch Conjurer, Carpentry, Cooking, or Fishing. Botany is still riding high at 30, only used it minimally. Archer is on hold for my buddy to catch up.

I managed to make almost a full re-equip for my Botanist that I'm pretty happy about, upgrading to dodoskin workboots, cotton scarf, dodoskin culottes, and some kind of work gloves (better from Smithy's gloves)... it all kinda runs together in my head. I also use the cotton scarf on my crafters, and made cotton halfgloves for them.

Topped it all of by running a bunch of battle leves with some new friends I met this weekend. I'll clear my Botany leves tomorrow which will bring me over 8k botany guildmarks (I'm gunning for YOU, Triangulate V).

I feel like I had a pretty productive weekend. But sleep is nice too, so good night.

Sincerely,
Ailys Foxglove

I wanted to get lancer to 14 and thaumaturge closer to 17.

What I did manage to accomplish was getting lancer to 14, but instead of leveling thaumaturge, I got alchemist to 13.

Well, tonight I got farmed 10 fire crystals and 100 wind shards to craft with. Made a bronze dagger +3 for use on my farming gladiator. Got armorer from 10 --> 11.

I would like very much to get goldsmith from 11 --> 12 as well by the end of the weekend

I actually got goldsmith from 11 --> 11.5. Not many leves to do.

Instead of ranking that up, I did get carpentry to 12.

Just took care of one small milestone minutes before typing this up. Hitting Archer 20, now omw back to Grid to join the guild and do that quest. Along with that I'll need 2400 marks to purchase Out of Sight. With good luck on leves and a boost from exchanging that may happen this weekend.

Check. Got the marks, just need to make my way to Grid and purchase that trait.

Quote:
As for the rest, lots of options. I depleted my stash of earth shards getting Weaver to 36 earlier this week so perhaps a farming/skillup run is in order. Got some DoWs sitting at 12 I could do that with or perhaps level CON & THM.

Did a little bit of this. No ranks gained, but I managed some earth shards and closer to r23 in both CON & THM.

Quote:
If I get into more crafting mode, getting LW to 20 and Alchemy to 30 would be my top priorities. No strict plans so far though...

Check on LW. Did the r20 quest and now sittin' at r21. Alchemy I got to 29 and a chunk towards 30 so that'll happen soon.

Overall a decent weekend progress-wise.

I hit rank 14 leatherworker. Previously I was trying to be a self sufficient leatherworker / armorer, but given my limited playtime, I've decided to focus on levelling up leatherworker exclusively. I also decided to take up a second DoW class, gladiator, to supplement my lancer... mainly so that I can party more often depending on what class people in my linkshell are levelling. I was losing interest from being an almost pure solo player. Not the way this game is meant to be enjoyed I think :) I also got close to level 18 lancer, and replaced a few pieces of armor that were becoming outdating/below my optimum level.

Cheers all

And she also like female Miqo'te (bad girl/heroine are both O.K), we have the same companion apparently.

Seems to be different for the fieldcraft leves than battle. Either 15 or 16 to unlock the rank 20s. Also, oddly you only get them in 1 city for each. Fishing = Gridania(Tranquil), Mining = LL(Bloodshore), Botany = Uldah(Horizon)

Thankyou kind sir. That's very helpful to know.

I've been enjoying my fishing recently to. Not sure i'm prepared to waste a tele or a 30min walk for one leve though :(

They're supposed to be adding rank 20 fieldcraft leves to the cities that are missing them with one of the upcoming patches. I've been doing the same rank 20 mining/botany leves for the last 5-6 weeks or so now. Looking forward to a bit of a change or at least not having to visit two camps in two different regions to get a couple of fieldcraft leves done for each class every reset.

That's a good bit of potential news then. I've been trying to come up with the most efficient way for me to utilise my 8 Regional Leve's without having to travel too far. At present it's:

3 Rank 20 Battlecraft: For main DOW class
3 Rank 10 Battlecraft: for getting other DOW classes to rank 10
2 Rank 10 Fishing: For umm.. Fishing :P

I've mainly focused on DOW/DOH till recently, but DOL has started to interest me. It seems alot easier to fish than it does to mine or chop trees though. I imagine leve's are pretty essential in the progression of DOL classes what with having to find specific harvest points and all.

I find it's a bit difficult for me to choose which regional leves I want to take now. I have 5 (:O) DoW/DoM classes capable of doing 1 star (or higher) rank 20 battlecraft leves for marks. And I'm still plugging away at miner/botany marks (got Prospect IV for miner a week or so ago and just got enough marks for the botanist equivalent last night). Truth be told, it's not that bad as long as I prioritize. Gladiator marks first, then miner, then whatever is left I take if it has a juicy item reward or just sounds like fun. I'm probably going to start doing battlecraft leves that offer conjurer marks as well, though, because I rarely do all 8 regional leves and my conjurer would benefit from a bit of a boost in the SP department.

My goals were Armorer 20 and Marauder 28->30.

I did get Armorer to 20 and do the associated quest. I found the story for it sort of disappointing after the Goldsmithing and Carpentry ones. I never managed to find the time to grind Marauder though. In addition to being away all day Saturday showing ultrasound pictures to my parents, we were unexpectedly invited to my inlaw's house for dinner on Sunday which just put a real cramp on my playing time. :p

Instead I managed to push Goldsmithing to 21. Not as satisfactory as ranking up Marauder as I'm anxious to see the next quest, but at least it was something.

Didn't hit rank 22 with my archer but I came pretty close. Should be able to make it during the week and focus on rank 23 for the weekend. I'm sure at some point the crafting bug will hit me. All this grinding is definitely providing me with plenty of shards and crystals.

Archer: Got to level 23..need to slow down since I'm out leveling my LS
Blacksmith: Got to 15 by helping LS build a ton of war axe's
Leatherworker: Almost got to 20....Dodo skin's to leather to vamps is your friend
Carpenter: Got to 17..Spent 50k on some Cedar logs and making axe handles...Need to get my hands on some more Willow logs to make masks.

I am going through 400-500 wind shards a night...this is getting rediculous....

If you haven't already spent some time with alchemy, you can take it -> rank 10 with around 250 fire shards and a comfy spot next to an NPC that sells Muddy Water. Muddle your way from 10 -> 15 or so from leves here and there and you can start breaking crystals into shards. It makes a huge difference. Not only have I reduced the strain on my shard reserves substantially by breaking down the crystals I had lying around, but I've gained 6-7 alchemy ranks from doing so and it also gives me the option to buy cheap crystals from bazaars and break them down for cheaper than if I had just bought straight shards. To be honest, I'm looking forward to the point where breaking down crystals no longer gives decent SP so that I can use Hasty Hand to speed up the process, but it's a handy option to have and doesn't take all that much.

We have a level 20 alchemist in our LS and she is working overtime to break down crystals for us. I agree it helps (I gave her like 20 wind crystals and she gave me back 350 shards. That is still only about a day's worth...

One bright note is in the level 30 leves, I'm starting to get clusters...

I didn't set any goals for myself this weekend, but I did manage to accomplish one of my longer term goals. I finally found someone selling darksilver buckles, so I bought a bunch of them and made some shiny new leather satchel belts for everyone in my LS. Also now that raptor sinew cord is more available than it was before, I made dodoskin work belts for the gatherers in my LS too. So even though I didn't make much progress level wise (only got PGL 23>24, and leather 22>23) I'm pretty happy that I was able to make some nice stuff for my friends.

Surprisingly I ranked up and leveled up, made a **** ton of gil without really raising a finger (some one was selling a few stacks of shards dirt cheap, I just bought about 1.1m worth and resold them for slightly less than the average price of those shards, netting about 40gil per shard profit pre-tax)... BTW I usually do buy others shards and then resell, but I'm lucky if I get more than 10g per shard pre-tax in resale profit.

So more or less in a matter of about an hour of unexpected playtime I achieved some things I didn't think I'd have time for, and found that sometimes you can get lucky by shopping in the appropriate ward. I'm quite chuffed.

well...

Weaver 13 > 15 --- I made it to 14

Armorer 14 > 15 --- Made it to 15! half way to 16 too.

Unexpected accomplishment --- Carpenter 14 > 16

Miner 19 > 20 --- still sitting at 19. I did alot of mining for shards and brought in a good amount of earth shards...but now I'm running low on wind shards (again) and people are getting INSANE with these wind shard prices! 1k for 2 wind shards!? I know I'm dressed nice but I am NOT made of money!

oh well...time to pick up my pick axe and mine for wind shards.

Instead, I did none of the above and took Marauder from 25 to 29 instead, lol.

I got to 32 on my CRP instead of 33 and surprisingly managed to get my PGL to 24, and ALC to 21. Yay! On a sad note, the sub fee email this morning prompted me to cancel my gf and I's subs until we see the new patches. Why they opted to make those with the CE fork over the sub fee before their first patch, I'll never know, but whatever.

Anyhow, I missed my mark of 33 CRP but got some other stuff done. :)
