I'm pretty sure that it says 25 November on the Lodestone though it did say that it was "optimistically scheduled" for 25th.

I think that means SE have got a bucket load of work to do between now and then!

(Being non-American and not following the culture of our cousins from across the water, I dont know whether that it thanksgiving or not - apologies for my ignorance).

Yup, it is - rather, Thanksgiving always falls on the last Thursday of November, which, this year, just happens to be the 25th. </pedantic semi-derail>

Sorry couldn't help myself >.>

And it's scheduled for turkey day so people will have time to play with the patches for free before they have to start paying.

Lol, why USA players keep thinking the update date it's cause of their thanksgiving day?

I believe he meant because Thanksgiving is a holiday. Since it falls on a Thursday we basically get a 4 day weekend, which means we get to play more after the update.

Perhaps it is so that gamers can "give thanks" to SE for the patch.

All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 24)
During the times listed below, we will be performing maintenance on FINAL FANTASY XIV. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XIV will be unavailable.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

[Date & Time]
Nov. 24, 2010 from 13:00 to 17:00 (PST)

* The completion time may be subject to change.

[Affected Service]
- FINAL FANTASY XIV

Anyone want to start a betting pool on if there will be a maintenance extension? With XI, it was almost a sure thing. They've been pretty good about that with XIV though.
