I think I might've read about it somewhere, but are the NM's gonna be like levequests or is it gonna be a camping fiasco like in FFXI?

a mix of the two. There will be notorious monsters available through faction leves (I believe, I don't know about regular leves) and open world NMs.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

So will the NM's be getting their own color identification ie blue = easy, red = hard?

NMs will most likely just be identifiable by their names just like in XI. Why would the strength gauge need to be any different?

I really hope they don't do instanced NMs only. Rarespawn outdoor NMs made the FFXI world feel less sterile.

This is SE we're talking about, of course their going to put NM's on 72 hour pop's just so we can have our cut throat battle mania!

I can see that, but I would counter with 13 people standing around a tree waiting for that NM to pop completely ruins immersion

I would like the lower leveled NM's (a bit like Leaping Lizzy and Valk Emperor type) to be more random in spawning.

So they can spawn over a very wide area and not be locked into some placeholder thing so people just calculate and camp.

Would be nice if they were a total lottery and a player could just happen upon them at anytime in a area. So it would be like "Ooh! Wow! There's so-and-so NM!" and have a go at it.

Kinda OT but others have hinted on it here: I always found it funny when I was new in FFXI when I'd stumble upon an NM and think, "Hrmm. Leaping Lizzy (or other named mob). I've killed lizards before... I'm level 10 now, I can handle it." Then I proceed to get my A$$ handed to me. Then there is some higher level fuming and waiting for me to die and then immediately claims it. lol.
