Fight more than 1 mob at once (SP)Follow

Can you fight 2 mobs at once and net you Skill Point (other than leve)? I don't think the 2nd one will give us Skill Point if their names aren't red.
They need to change the battle mechanic so we can fight more than 1 mob at once and still give us skill point. If not, then this update "Where the Wild Things Spawn (11/18/2010)" is completely useless.

It's not useless.

Lets say currently there is a 20 second travel time to get from Monster 1 to Monster 2.

With +50% more monsters, it will take less than 20 seconds to get to monster 2, because they are less spread out.

And no, it does not net you additional skillpoints, unless you are a healer that is healing the add damage.

After the update you will get a fix amount of exp after a mob dies. Every member in the group gets the same.
Just like in XI. So yea you can even fight 100 mobs at once if you survive it.

Actually, AOE WS such as brandish and steadfast stance marauder WS do, in fact, have a chance to generate SP on an enemy even if it is not the primary target, but as the OP said, only in a leve. I have never seen it go above 50 SP though, and never when the target is not in a leve. Prior to this month I hadn't seen it even generate SP while in leves.

If the mobs are "Grouped" (all names are red) then you can get SP from any mob in that group. People can fighting different mobs and they'll get SP too.

However, if, say, you use an AoE weapon skill while a stray marmot is wandering too close by, no you can't get SP off of that one until the thing you were fighting originally goes down.

Another example is during Behest: If you go after one group of monsters, and someone you're partied with goes after something else, only the person who claimed their group first will be able to get SP/EXP from their monsters. The others will get nothing.

The point is, a monster's name has to be red for you to get SP or EXP from it.

Just to clarify, it's not when the target is a leve target that you get the full amount of SP, but rather, if the mobs are in a party. That being said, this dynamic leves open the option of having non-leve mobs in parties. I haven't seen any yet, but the mechanic is there. I like the mechanic personally. Just don't spam aoe attacks; rather pick your attacks carefully and you won't have this problem.
