don't know if this has been posted, but seems like famitsu has some interesting screenshots. Someone put up the elmer light, we could use a translation. :P

http://www.famitsu.com/news/201011/25036130.html

also, **** yeah! bring on the goblins and moblins. |3 and the people in the suits look like flight atendants... could it possibly mean airships, or just a funky suit for crafters to make.

Those pics look suspiciously like it is saying those are either new retainers or new retainer equipment/clothes.

That and the fact that リテイナー sounds an awful lot like retainer...

Whoops, didn't realize it went down further. >_> I'm just talking about the first two pics with the Elezan in the steward-like clothing.

Looks like we have a new job in the update? If you look at the bottom near the weapons, google translate has information pertaining to a newly released weapon. Also mention that materials that make these weapons drop from NMs.

The top two pictures are new Retainer costumes designed with a store clerk kind of motif.

Below are some examples of the tough boss monsters that will be added:
A type of Great Buffalo
An Elder Mosshorn and herd of Aldgoats
A Pieste with shining, reflective scales
A Banzoku chariot with protective magical runes

The Goblins, Flans and Diremites are new types of regular mobs.

At the bottom are weapons.
A wide-bladed sword
A two-pronged spear
An axe-staff hybrid weapon

Stuff like this is usually added to the official FFXIV site pretty quick, with all the descriptions given official translations. I'll check Famitsu today as well to see if there is anything new.

The line that comes up as "first appearance" from Google Translate is just saying it's the first time we've seen such an beautifully designed scabbard.

Ahh excelent! good to see elmer poked his nose in and checked things out. Hmm, new retainer outfits? pretty neat actually. And all of the ther info is quite interesting too just getting a few sneak peeks.

I think the most interesting thing though is now it's confirmed that NM's will drop crafting materials, not actual weapons. (They might still, but who knows.)

So are these for this version update or just in the planned future? I'm curious how the gobbies will fit in with the current beastman roles in this game as well. I'll not elaborate on what I mean for fear of spoiling out some storyline.

While I'm not going to translate the entire article, I can tell you that the costumes are actually alternate outfits for one's retainer, not airship personnel; the goblins, however, are set to appear in-game, as they are listed under "announcement of new monsters." Hope that helps a little~

Oh, wow... the thread has been quickly updated in the last ~5 minutes! Just ignore me XD

On a different, though related, note: these pictures have me very excited -- especially the goblins! FFXIV may finally start to feel all warm and fuzzy! :D

4gamer has another article that from what I read basically tells the same things, but offers the romanization of the names of the NMs, though they may be not entirely correct:

Those goblins are giving me horrible flashbacks of my first trip to the dunes in XI.

The horror. The horror.

I had promised that for as long as I played FFXIV I wouldn't kill a single monster...but if we are talking about Goblins here I may have to pick up a sword.

Wooot goblins baby! I miss getting destroyed by their bombs. And I feel like saying it: if anyone can get out of a slump it'd be SE. I have such high hopes for this game and I think deep inside all of us know its eventually going to be what FFXI couldn't be and it'll pick up gradually with time. I think the PS3 launch will be the savior of this game and when people see its doing good then ({crossing fingers) they'll start flocking back.

That may very well be true, but if it makes the game not so empty, you won't hear me complaining. I really miss the goblins. As long as they don't bring back the Yagudo, I never liked them and I can't really explain why lol. That would really be nice, to replace some of those marmots with goblins, or at least something that is better than a marmot lol.

I've always wondered how many women do they have in the art team compared to men.

All I know is that the UI was fully handled by women, considering the logic behind it.
