Anyone else getting an Error 20524 when the patch is about to finish updating(not downloading)?

Thanks for the effort...but it didn't work sadly >.<
I'm getting redirected to the german version...god this sucks so much xD

Why the **** can't they just implement a **** "language change" Java applet or w/e.

Now I have to "assume" which item is what and what changed xD

Thanka again though^^

PS: Back to topic.

I don't believe PTs in general will work as they worked so far anyway. As we all know now, Skill pts are awarded just like experience points, for defeating the mob. Which will make "efficient" smaller PTs consisting of 1 Tank, 1 Healer and DD more appealing, rather then 15ppl spamming **** on a Mob 10 Ranks higher, cause there is no "Skill cap" anymore, there is just a set amount of skill pts you will get from the mob. Lets say a Group of 10-15ppl(Rank 26-29) grind on Efts in Treespeak. Getting like 500 Skill Pts a kill(if we assume that still is the max you can get) And another PT consisting of 5ppl(Rank 26-29) grind on Island Crabs and they get 300 Skill Pts a kill, it would make Island Crabs more efficient, as you will be able to kill 2-3 Island Crabs in the time you kill 1 Eft.

This is just pure assumption, but I do believe that the changed Skill PTs system will have a huge impact on how PTs will work and I hope this will be the case, cause right now grinding is not fun for me...its just spamming **** with 12 other ppl xD

Is it just me or are notorious monsters not mentioned?

I am overall very happy with this update but I was really looking forward to them.

On another note:

I am excited about the new recipes that utilize fish. Way cool to be able to upgrade things with fish oil.

Getting rid of +1 and +2 will effectivly doublt tripple peoples invnetory space as is. In conjunction with the 20 extra slots this will go a long way trowrds making crafters happy.

+1 and +2 never helped me anyways but +3 where always guaranteed HQ.

You know, I'm happy with a lot of the changes. :)

I'm not happy that I will have to eat the cost of the brass hatchets I bought and flipped to higher prices. But who feels sorry for me? :P I'm glad they fixed the iron knife blade snafu. I'm also quite happy that making nuggets will no longer cost me fire crystals. I wish they had done the same with cotton bolls and lightening crystals. :(

I do not believe that the market for shards will drop much.

As a gatherer, I giggled when they referred to "sweet spots" at a gathering node. I know by experience that these points on the game module have always existed. I'm happy that they're making it obvious to everyone. :)

HURRAY FOR REDUCED WAIT TIMES ON FISHING!

BOO FOR HAVING to SWITCH ACTIONS JUST BECAUSE I'M IN A DIFFERENT GRADE AREA. SE Whyyyyyyy? :(

Loot automatically enters inventory... :)

World population and nearby player counts are no longer displayed. BAHA

The Tab key can now be used to navigate between the given name and surname fields. Thank you...

An issue where the marauder weapon skills Skull Sunder and Brutal Swing would always strike multiple targets. I was wondering what was going on with this. I got many a disgruntled comment when people died because I aoe'd and attracted other mobs when using these abilities.

Because alot of the douchewaffles that play the game switched to DL it with their own torrent program and disable file upload so it shares 3 times slower then originaly intended. They do this because it gets their jollys off.

I'm gonna be ticked if they didn't add the search function in this update, there's alot of stuff that I'm really excited over they did add in I wasn't expecting but I've really been wanting that search function. The wards need that, badly. YellowGremlin makes it easier but without continual updates you just find yourself going to areas and discovering the item you wanted was already sold. Smiley: disappointed I don't know how much time I've spent hunting for a bow only to discover YG's listing is several hours old and it has already been long gone from that seller's bazaar.

As for retainers I'm seriously hoping this will be included in the maint and not forcefully held off thanks to their free trial. I stopped playing one character when I discovered I enjoyed playing the other more. Now I want to make that character my main but find myself running out of storage thanks to no retainer and no method of transferring items outside player assistance. Hate it.

No search but you are able to equip retainers with the wares you are selling.

This means in the Battlecraft ward that if people are smart they'll equip the item they want to sell, for example a bow.

This might make things easier for you?

Thing is I could've sworn they mentioned the search function coming in the November patch. I've been looking through past articles SE posted on the Lodestone and nothing turns up unfortunately regarding it. Only that the November patch was supposed to have the market ward updates in an older listing.

Quote:
Late November Update
Adjustments and additions to the user interface
Adjustments to the Markets and retainers
Lowering of Teleport and Return costs
Adjustments to overall battle balance
Adjustments to class balance
Adjustments to party battle balance
Adjustments to monster placement
Adjustments to levequests
Adjustments to synthesis
Addition of new synthesis recipes
Alleviation of lag issues

I wish SE wasn't so cryptic with their wording. The details regarding the December update didn't include mention of market ward updates either.

Look for the article reading "Version Updates Coming Soon! (10/15/2010)".

Before, the guild bought "quick" abilities for DoLs accounted for their level and below, now they just count for their level.

Was going to make a smart move and just wait till I got 10,000 marks to buy the highest level one, saving over 15,000 marks. Now, it looks like I have to buy them all. Oh well...

Lower difficulty is not the same as lower rank needed. They've got another section in the updates for adjusted recipe ranks.

Yay for this detailed Patch Note list - I like it and hope they'll continue to do so in the future as well.
As for the patch itself - *sigh* currently sitting at 74 % and it starts to continue extremely slow now. I hope it'll be done before server maintenance is finished.

As a whole, I like most of what I've seen in the notes - just a little disappointed that we have to wait a few more weeks for our extra retainers and search function but I guess it's bearable.

No, downloading with the patcher has always been slow...that's why a lot of the "douchewaffles" switched to uTorrent/BitTorrent to download the patches. I'm currently seeding the full patch download (which is more than 10 times larger than previous patches, btw), but any more sniveling and stupidity out of you and I'll stop seeding just to live up to your expectations.

The SE patcher has always sucked for me. I swear there is just some sort of hardware/software compatibility issue that I haven't figured out yet. I tried everything with that broken PoS.

I have to shut down BitTorrent at some point...game won't run properly with it running. But the advantage to others of using BitTorrent is that I can log out of FFXIV and load up BT before I go to bed and seed all night. If you use SE's patch downloader, the patch file is gone after it installs and you can't seed anymore even if you wanted to. I DL the patch files to a separate directory on a backup drive and then copy them over to my SSD. Archived patches FTW.

"Party" probably counted as a group of one or more players, such that everyone not in a party was a party of one. That would make the numbers lower than actual server populations, but not by too much.

Yeah, I understand.

I appreciate seeders though. I also archive patches and seed them. However the game seems to work fine for me while seeding. At least it has before anyway.

Changes of that nature we're seeing here don't require huge files. Adding new mobs, gear, and zones is what produces the big update file sizes, and we aren't getting a ton of those this time around.

I think people are glossing over my most important point.. Which is that in these version update details, they state "World population and nearby player counts are no longer displayed."

I'm asking if those numbers were anything other than "world population and nearby player counts," then where were the world population and nearby player counts located? That's what they were, I don't see any logical reason to think otherwise.

This November update is way over my expectation. Right at the time I came back in-game from my overloaded reality.

Mostly a good patch, but as a goldsmith I fear the worst.

They're changing silver needle recipe, which is like the only thing to skill up on past 35. And they have nerfed the iron ornamental hammer.

Not only that but they nerfed bronze ornamental hammers! Right when I started back on goldsmithing!

Also, did they make it so you can buy retainers yet? Got lost in the flood of text!

anyone know what level, job, and the recipe is for glass lens? I WANT MY GLASSES!

Clear Glass Lens is showing as 40 alchemy.

Olorinus asked, cause in the patch notes it sayss that the difficulty for Clear Glass Lens will be lowered=lower rank needed. Rank 40 is the current known rank needed ;)

Lower difficulty is not the same as lower rank needed. They've got another section in the updates for adjusted recipe ranks.

Actually it is not the same as lowered rank needed, but overall it results in this. Cause the difficulty you had, when synthing it on 40, might be the difficulty you will have now on 38, so why not try synthing it on 38 then?
