Pulled from lodestone..

"The amount of skill points required to attain ranks 11 through 31 has been reduced.
Excess skill points resulting from version update changes are retained and applied towards the next rank.
Ex.) A player at rank 17 with 13,000 skill points prior to the version update.
As the amount of skill points required to attain rank 18 has been lowered from 15,000 to 12,000, this player will immediately attain rank 18 the next time skill points are earned, and will also retain the surplus 1,000 skill points."

But ok here is my question. I'm rank 32 marauder maybe a quarter of sp into the rank. Now that all those ranks require less experience, did we basicly just loose all the extra skill points? It says when you get skill points you get the extra sp but thats only if you have more sp than the rank now requires. Please don't tell me all the time we spent grinding was for that extra sp was for nothing. >.>

No, the only time SP is being adjusted, is if you were above your current levels new cap. In that case you will be that much surplus into the next level. It affects nothing else.

So nice of them to prevent people ranking too fast too early and then ******** us of all that extra sp we worked hard on getting. Seriously?

Not really. The TV I bought 6 months ago now sells for 100$ less and I don't want the store to give me the money back.

I understand your point there and appreciate your response to my question. :) I just can't help being frustrated over the extra time I've spend ranking just to lose the extra 2k of sp for all those ranks. >.>

You aren't really getting "screwed". Your reward for doing it the 'hard' way is reaching higher tier content sooner than the people who waited. MMOs are always changing and the only way to prevent yourself from being short-changed is by not playing them. The SP reduction helps anyone who doesn't have every class above r31.

Master you have an excellent point. I did have a lot of fun in all those parties so all in all it wasn't for nothing I suppose. :)

I just wanted to add a little bit. Now that we've gone through the really hard grinding, we can appreciate how it will be. It's like a nice breath of fresh air. It sucks losing all of the extra SP we could have had, but it probably made us better players because of it. AND, now if a new player does start playing and complains about the grind, we can just chuckle about how hard it was back in the olden days. It's kind of like having to walk to school in the rain and snow up hill both ways. New players will be so spoiled. ;)
