Hm, ever since Ive got the game, every once in a while in a graphic heavy area my monitor will suddenly go black, and my video card will stop working. Is this an over heating problem? What should I do? I have an HD4870 and I run at the absolute lowest settings possible :(

Get some programs to see temperatures. EVGA Precision Tool works well for GPUs, while the tool was made by EVGA you do not need their brand card to use it. Coretemp is good to check your CPU temps though I highly doubt your processor is overheating based on your description of the problem.

Sounds more like a driver problem. Mite want to try reinstaling your video drivers.

Could be over heating, or a weak PSU. Download Core Temp, GPU-Z and everest if you like. That should give you all the temps you need. What kind of power supply do you have?

Goto your catalyst control and open the overdrive panel. It should show the temperature and fan setting.

Your driver will reset to prevent the card from overheating which drops you to a black screen for the game. When it happens if you are on windows 7 you will see a pop up window on your task bar saying the driver reset. I don't know about other OS.

I am playing on a 4870 with above minimum specs. The only time I see my temp go above 60c is if I forget to bump the fan speed up when playing.
