The availability of additional retainers and search functionalities for the wards are pretty big updates in terms of ingame experience.

I agree that much of the grunt work to make the game more playable was introduced in the November patch which has certainly greatly improved the game for me, the remaining big issues (for me) are the wards.

A good search function, well implemented, would serve as a reasonable alternative to an AH. It will make it possible to find what you are looking for quickly and compare prices across retainers. Multiple retainers will mean that people have the opportunity to better align items for sale to a particular ward (rather than just putting all items on one retainer who is in the wrong ward).

The other big addition in December is NM's - I am probably too low level to enjoy this content yet but I know some players will be very happy with it.

Overall - still moving in the right direction.

I think first version update will be march..I hate to say. They did once announce that they will be sticking to the update every 3 months system. Nov and Dec is sort of one big update to them in this case. We can always hope it'll be Jan, but we'll see

I think you are right on this one, we will have to wait for march for big content to hit.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the search functionality on retainer. I must admit that it gives me the opportunity to sell my stuff at some unethical high price :) I am overall pleased with the current system.

Most likely the major content patches will be:

Mid-december
mid-late January 2011/ Early-mid February
March 2011 (PS3 Release)

With small patches and fixes on the way

Every 3 months, they said.

Next version update in March, they said.

Adjustments to existing behests (Anyone notice something here ?)

I didn't see any specific announcement for this, but doing the exact same behest after the patch yielded much higher physical experience points compared to before the patch (300 --> 500/kill). I can't say for sure the SP gain was more since it was random in the past. So at the very least i would say, exp gain for behest has increased (probably to encourage more participation). SP gain is likely more too but that is speculative at this point.

It's there. ^_^d

Oddly enough, it's not in the linkshell member list...

I am cautiously optimistic because they added more than I realized in the Nov patch.

It is very plausible we'll see further optimizations in the Dec patch along with more content than initially announced.

xD

Gotta admit I'm about to fall into this trap too, which will only lead to disappointment..

All I'm hopeful about is the amount of NM's and new leves introduced. They might surprise us.

I've said a 100 times and i think 1 more wont hurt, I don't see a party seeking system on that list and considering their "vision" isn't working I'd also considering just discarding the retainer system and putting in an AH SE...at this point I don't think they have much room to gamble any more. I still can't believe how they completely f***ed up on this release...everyone was anticipating an FFXI-2 and instead we got a broken game and yet we sit here and wait on it to get better because we know how good FFXI was.....how can the FFXI devs make this game this broken and worse yet release it like this.

Sure sounds like something to do with party seeking systems to me.

really? it could be just retainer search features and global search features...if it is, then i'm happy but that's vague at best.

Retainer search features are separate from this one. Global search features might as well mean addition of a seek party function. I mean, there can't be such system without global search imo.

Not that I think one is necessary. I'd rather give people perks for starting a group.

Unfortunately though that is 2011

I wonder if they're being purposely vague at this point regarding updates or they just don't want to commit to a date because they may be able to push the features out earlier.

I noticed they got most stuff done in Nov update so it could mean some of the 2011 features may be pushed into the dec update.

If revisions to LFG tools and SP for parties are made that'll be more than enough for me until march next year.
