I'm not sure if anyone else has seen this, as today was the first time I noticed but I saw it at 3 different camps. There were about 14 rank 7 conjurers, all wearing the exact same thing, with names like "Pause Break" "Search Happy" "Carry Nike" "Lich King" "Baby Wait" etc... All following each other around when they did move, and none of them had bazaars or anything like that. Basically exactly how rmt were in XI.

I look at this as ill things to come...

Seen it on Gyshal in Limsa, bunch of little taru females...if all RMT are that cute i say bring em on! :P joking, but hey maybe this is a good sign, if the RMT are taking the time to delve into this game maybe they see a good future for it? one can hope.

SE did it to themselves with this SP patch. Powerlevelling is back in full force.

AKA: "WTF were they thinking, #263"

Don't give them credit for logic. They tried to sell gil in Beta...

I've seen something similar on Wutai in Drybone couple times. A crowd composed of the same 3 models, all lvl 1-3 with no bizarres or LS icons. This was just before the Nov. update, when the pop. of Wutai was hovering around 700 down from 1.5k . My own little theory was that perhaps they were placed by SE? to try and make sever pop. look better. Of course, it was just a theory with no proof, but now that the sever pop. is no longer visible in the Party menu, I can't see why this would be the case.

In order for RMT to be a big problem- people need to be spending enough RL money on the RMTs to offset the cost of their accounts...

Right now, I don't see how it could remotely be beneficial for them... who is buying?!

i look at the obvious... its definatly rmt... but then again

in ffxi this one guy in my linkshell on carby. Thdrbolt had 8 characters thdrboltgirl thdr ect ect ect and he litteraly partied with himself and had 2 extra outside party powerleveling

he wasnt rmt and he did this for years

so it wouldnt suprise me to see a few ppl doing this

on the other hand this was also common in WoW for anyone who played since day 1

RMT would make huge parties all the same race/class and do quests ect to lvl them up fast. youd see them in westfall running thru deadmines orw.e over and over then running thru SM over and over ect ect

then theyd sell the characters for $400 each once they hit 60

thats probably whats happening

The names in this game makes them hard to spot as RMTs but seeing 7-10 people in the same dull clothes and doing nothing is just creepy. This game has colorful clothes even at low levels.

people who dont read zam ect and just buy high lvl characters <btw this is ffxiv theres no "toons"> don't know that.

alot of ppl have never played the game.. not just this but every mmo. they just like to buy a high lvl when they start..

in wow in aion in lineage2 **** in every mmo ive ever played ive met at least 1 max lvl person who didnt know jack abt how to play and some of them even admitted it was their first day/week playing

they always say "oh a friend/sibling gave me his/her account" but you know thats just a lie

If you are just seeing them now, you are lucky... I have seen them on Fabul for over a month now and SqEnix is doing nothing to slow them down. All they have done is put in a system where you have to get out of your game and go to some website and fill out a long form about them and where you saw them, etc.

GM's refuse to take complaints about them and just point you in the direction of the site.

I've sent this email to several RMT websites (from public computers as I wouldn't risk visiting one from a computer I play on) and never got a replay. Didn't really want to buy gil just curious as to how they'd answer.

Dear RMT site:

I am considering purchasing gil from your site but I am hesitant to know if I can trust your company. Since your business model involves violating the contracts you enter into how can I trust your operation? You made a comitment that you would not sell gil but are doing so in violation of your contract with Square Enix. Can you provide me with any assurance that you would not violate a purchase exchange?

also, if something goes wrong, pup is the easiest job to blame. You can keep one around just for that reason. If there's a mijin gakure and everyone dies, just blame the pup, he's used to it.

I've seen shouts for $15 per 1M gil. But really, who needs gils? There's nothing to buy. Doing leve, and crafting gives you more gils than most can spend.

Sure, HQ items are cool and all, but it's totally useless. With the current SP system, you can use your weathered gear and no one will complain. No one cares period. SP in behest and leve is the way to go, you get SP regardless if you can land or deal damage in the group. Joining SP is a waste of time now, but even grinds don't require good gear, it's about fast kills on too weak monsters anyways.
