Battlecraft Guild Mark AwardsFollow

I've noticed that when I am offered guild marks for a battlecraft levequest, more often than not they are for my lowest ranked class (most recently, Lancer R11). This is discouraging me from even starting the other DoW classes (I'd already leveled both Thaumaturge and Conjurer). Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just random?

I can't find the post here, but someone actually noticed that a battlecraft leve that was originally offering gil automatically switched to marks for one of his classes when the class got in the appropriate range to do leves of that rank. So it's highly possible that the leves which give marks are randomly associated to a class, and if you don't meet hidden requirements for that class you get gil instead.

In other words, it's not that you're ******** yourself over by ranking up the 2nd class but are getting more opportunities to get marks.

Its random. I can say through a lot experience. Right now I have about 10K worth of unused marks in Glad, Arch, Thaum, Mining, and Botany. But there is no clear path to getting marks you want...it just happens. With anima issues partly addressed, if you want to build marks in a certain job...before picking a leve, shop the other cities and see what they have to offer, and only pick leves that offer marks. That's what I've been doing and my marks are building fairly quickly.

Is it really an opportunity when it offers a R11 class marks for a R20 quest (The Wights' Stuff at Camp Horizon - HARD!)? Seems more like a wasted leve, since if you don't use the appropriate class, you get 0 marks. I would prefer to be offered marks for Thaumaturge (R20) since I could actually use them. :-/

It is random. You just remember the lower level one getting it more because it is annoying. Any job over 10 starts to get guild mark awards after the level 20s open.

(This is all my opinion and should be treated as such.)

Once you get a class to Rank 10 the leves will randomly give you reward for marks in that class.

The same goes for 20... Once you get a class to Rank 20 (and have that class or some other class to Rank 23)
your R30 leves will have the opportunity to offer marks as a reward.

Its completely random. Also giving the new patch, one of the better ways to gain SP (for any class) is doing leves with guard favor. Even if its a lower rank and its a leve you cant beat as the class for which marks are offered, you can still do the leve as a higher ranked class. You will not receive any marks for reward but you will receive the completion gil and SP/XP you gained killing the mobs.

Still worth it in my opinion.

Yea...there's a reason I chose to not level pug, con, and Lnc to 10. I will eventually...but probably not until I get my other 4 DOW jobs to 23.

My advice...grind your other jobs you have past 10 up to 17 or so(shouldn't take long). There are only a couple leves right now that are hard to solo at 17...The wights, the one with the Footpad guys can get dicey.

If you are very casual player, one that plays an hour or two a day, you don't need to worry
about the guildmarks, I got 40K guild marks on my THM and 20K on my con and I just hit rank 20
on both class a couple of days ago. I got most of my SP on leves, so I level slow, but in turn
I have accumulated lots of marks, by the looks of it I would be able to buy all of the abilities
in my guilds before I hit 25.

One trick that led me to get more guild marks is to get 2-3 leves per city and max it out to 8. Then when I get to a city that offers a leve with marks, I can exchange that leve with my previous leves from another city, potentially doubling the amount. I once got 4k mark on my CON and 3.8k on my THM, when a faction leve offered 2k leve and I got to exchange 4 leves for each of them. after the exchange, the marks are twice the amount it originally offered. So don't just take the level right away, if you have leves from the previous cycle, exchange them. It is more worth when your old leves are from a different faction or city.
