I am usually not especially creative and poetry is normally not my thing, but someone I have recently started to get to know is having a massive influence over me. I thought I would try my hand at some creative writing, hope its not too sucky or corny. I know its not especially long either ;;

While wandering in a land far away, a ray of light has come shining my way.
Such similarities feel uncanny, have we met in a pub, were you a friend of Sally
Her music recommendations I can never pass by
Each one brings a smile, or a twinkle to my eye
So glad am I our paths have crossed, for a long time i'm sure i'll hold her in my thoughts.
The future now an exciting place, with my new friend Sylv, my in game mate

Although you are so far away, I feel you getting closer everyday.
Thank you for Mew they are so full of Win, Lady Ga Ga you belong in the bin
She knows of Oldboy and Vistor Q
I wouldn't watch that film if I were you!
Grew up in Hong Kong, the land of Kung Fu
A movie buff and music guru

Now back to work I must return
As yet more servers start to fall down
But I hope that when I get back late
I will see my friend by Limsa Lomisa gate

Lol :D ty for reply, but it is an ode to friendship nothing more. This person has such similar music and movie tastes it is nuts, we have had some win chats. It makes logging in a joy

Oh, that's how it always starts, isn't it? Smiley: wink Be lying if I said I hadn't been there though. I never recited poetry on Zam for her though. You got it bad, my friend. Smiley: lol

Ok, I am going to be the first one to say this... (and I know you all are thinking it!)

If someone from a game wrote a poem for me in ZAM or any other forum I would <run away> and think that the nice guy I met on a computer game is a bit of a freak.

lol

BUT if she really is into that kinda stuff, good for you.

Hmm...
Maybe I am just an old cynic who is trying to kill all romance from the world...

Kudos for mentioning Oldboy, one of the greatest movies of all time.

All joke aside, I personally think it's great when you meet someone who shares the same passions irl or ig, be it a guy, a girl or a Coblyn.

Absolutely awesome, my friend!
Time to get her on here, ftw!

Think deeply, be creative, be smart...
Give her a clue from the tip of your heart.

How do you relay to her this happiness that you feel?
Can you bring her to Zam so she'll know this is real?

Expressions of ones self, so deep and so true,
Feeling more joy than a beer could ever brew!

The only advice I know is a knight shows no fear.
Do I say it again? Bring her on here!! =P

Good luck; great poem!!!

BTW, big rate-up for you!

Bingo!!! This person totally gets it ^^

I have NEVER met anyone who is into the same movies and music to this extent, my tatse is so obscure it is unture. Sure some poeple have heard of some stuff, but for someone to go "listen to this you will love it", just doesn;t happen - I invariably will not like it.

I am absolutely blown away to have finally met someone who can I communicate with on this level. And to have someone make music reommendations that are right up my street - it's fantastic

To illustrate that point - Gorky's Zygotic Mynci anyone......exactly :D

If I have that bad - then yes I am guilty as charged

I only have 4 things that I am desperatly passionate about, music, movies, surfing and MMO's lol

Meh - with all the negativity floating around at the moment I also thought it would be nice to post a postive encounter from the game.

Ah awesome reply thank you bud :)

Yours is clearly much better than mine though.

Yeah I know its kinda bad, but I really never write poems. And as for posting it on ZAM - jees yeah I knew that would be a huge gamble :))

But it seems like most are getting the gist though ^^

Yours blows mine away! It was just great to start my morning off on a happy note!
BTW, Visitor Q is one of the craziest movies I've ever seen! I love that movie!
Time for Ichi the Killer!

I wrote a poem one time for someone in FFXI. I brought her to that little lake in the woods east of Sandy, on the way to Jeuno, and typed it for her in the chat log, lol. Crystal Lake, maybe? Anyways...

Visitor Q was disturbing, was so challanging to watch it to the end. Good ole Takeshi Mike.

Ichi is awesome too, have you seen Lady Vengeance. The original Ring trilogy was also very good.

But TBH, I don;t think I have seen a Tartan Asian Film I did not like

Have spoken to her and she gets the motivation and meaning behind the gesture. I have not offended or upset her in the slightest, and tbh that is all i really care about.

I am kinda lol'ing at the romantic implications as that is the simple solutuion but it goes way beyond that. It was an attempt at the expression of joy you feel when you meet someone who is totally on your page and wavelength. In terms of humour and intersts I mean, I guess also the joy a new friendship brings.

As I said earlier, with all the negativity curently about I thought the ZAM boards could use a break and have a happy story for a change.

In hindsight however, possibly it was not a good idea, but as some people can relate I think maybe it was.

P.S - If I thought she would have mis-insterpreted this I would never have made the post in the first place. Target audience and all that!

Anways, if you enjoyed the thread that's great, if not there are plenty more to read

Epic circlejerk thread. On a serious note, I hope she's a she, I really do.
