Pics of new areas and infoFollow

pics at bottom of post.

There are quite a few "Hidden" areas so to speak that are either blocked off completely or have no visible way of reaching them atm.

First area is dead center of la noscea map. underneath the mountain there is a vast network of caves. looks very similiar inside to the cassopia hollow with the exception that there seems to be some sort of built in fortress/ruins inside. couldnt get alot of details other than that because as soon as you go in it gives you about 30 seconds before the game kicks you off. theres no mobs or anything that spawn there as of yet. there are however 3 entrances blocked by npcs. one is to the left of camp bloodshore. another is to the right of skull valley. and another is towards moraby bay (may have that spelled wrong.).

Second area is underneath the market wards. this one.. i found extremely odd. theres also a bunch of caves underneath there that seem to lead nowhere at all. the market wards seems to be its own zone... so why are there caves..

Third area is to the very bottom right corner of thanalans map. the map was called bowl of embers or something close to that. this one has no visible acessable areas and is the most interesting of all. from what i could tell from it it seemed like a bcnm area of sorts. tons of little signs that look like beastmen made and also an atheryte crystal thats tied up with some sort of rope and just gives the message (the atheryte seems dull). theres a cave entrance further in that leads away from thanalan but it didnt seem to be completed as it just cut off.

forth area is in gridania. at the very top left of the map theres a lake. if you can get to where that crystal is (cant remember the name) look across the water. theres tons of detailed paths and walkways that are completely off the map. i havent been able to get into this one yet but id very much like too see whats over there.

there is one more interesting area. behind the city of thanalan is a very detailed desert landscape. no trees no water but much more detailed than it should be for "background" effects. i have no theorys for this one.

as a side note i will say that spaceship in the middle of mor dhona has no physical structure. its just an image. also the entrance to ishgard actually has mobs on the other side of the gate when heading to the city. (i wish i knew why though.).

i figured this would create some good conversations during the maintenance so let the theorys begin. =)

The researches i made about this the last 2 months lead me to the fact, that those areas will be accessable in future.

thats what im thinking. probably that mountain in lanoscea being the first area to open i bet. seems the most complete. the wierd thing is... it almost seems like it leads further out towards the back of the mountain. making me think maybe they will open up the other side of the island or something. i could be completely wrong though.

Just looking at the world map and the GIANT HOLES in zone maps - I also kinda assumed these would open up sooner or later.

It's interesting to know that a lot of it is actually there now, just inaccessible. I'd love to see pictures.

In coertas just south of camp dragonhead (the area with all the pteroc matrons) there is an NPC guarding a cave. Talking to the npc tells you that you are not eligible to enter the (forgotten name) caves because you're a non believer!

on another note:

has anyone actually explored the vast cave systems under thanalan? it seems to stretch on forever. You can enter it just outside the ferry port.

the la noscea mountain seemed like it was 100% complete and detailed. just no npcs or mobs. didnt see any dead ends leading into nothing or any cut off hallways. as for the other they had all the details in but some parts seemed to be missing (the connections to land) lol. if i can ill try and get you some pics. bowl of embers was a pretty sweet looking place.

I just assumed those caves in thanalan went as far as the dark spots on the map. are you saying they go further in?

I too think the underground caves under La N will be the first thing to become accessible, since all the guards are all stationed up. I've found a lot of places like this as well, random holes in the ground to underground places that seem like they're somewhere you can run, but there's just no way to get there yet. I bet all this stuff opens up in content updates.

For some reason I think when they do make an expansion, they'll just add another continent. The base continent looks very similar to Africa, which is where life was rumored to have began, so I see no reason why in a few years we might not have a whole massive world.

There's another npc over near drybone i think it is that tells you that none shall pass. He's on the ramp leading down to what is surely a dungeon like cave.

You need to upload them somewhere, ex. photobucket.com.

Then just post the links here.

South of Drybone I think it was, you'll eventually find a bunch of strangely shaped caves, one of them has an NPC that won't let you by. They almost remind me a bit like giant burrows.

EDIT: Didn't notice this was already said... But yea, south of Drybone if I recall.

Your last image is an area from one of the cutscenes. I recognize it because its where you have to either kill some guys or parley them.

I didn't recognize the others, but I would assume at least a few of those areas are storyline "intances"

Yeah don't let the name fool you. There actually might be scorpions there now though.

I'm guessing there are simply repeated sets past the borders, thats the case for the zones currently. Unless you're talking about what mobs are in the 'new' zones, then that's a good question.
I'd be interested to see what mobs are in store, but not terrain, because it's all the same

huh, the area under thanalan might tie into something very important that came up from the rank 20 miner quest. If its what I think it is then its very exiting news!

4th pic reminds me of ghelsba with the wooden shields sticking out of the ground. I noticed the one map is very small, reminds me of burning circle type areas.

yeah that was my main reason in thinking that. its a very small map. but there is a network of pathways off to the side that arent finished. they may be the entrance in the future from thanalan. and the cave part seems like the entrance into what would be a bcnm. might be way off. but all the wierd marked shield things.. the torches.. the odd tied up atheryte.. its got to be something important.

lol that i will have to keep a secret to myself. but for the most part i do have the capability to go just about anywhere. so when they release an expansion and dont open areas right away or theres somewhere -people cant get because of extremely strong mobs i can get pictures and details for yall.
