Eat yo god **** children if you don't just address the SP issue.

But seriously I'll kick them in the ****** head and stomp on their *********

Ok now for real serials.

Please just enlighten the community of the deal with SP. I don't. Give a **** either way if it's bugged or it's working as intended I just want to know so I can make the decision to keep playing or not. I think like most people, I don't give two ***** if you want us to level up slower, no big deal. You want to make soloing viable? Knock yourselves out. But in all honesty I bought this game because I loved the party aspect of final fantasy. Ill take ****** SP as long as in my 6 man group it's still better than me slaughtering ******* innocent rock spiders in 2 hits for hours on end.

I really am not bashing the game, actually on the contrary I ******* love the game so far. It's already slated to be so far beyond any mmo out that I WANT to give you my money SE. **** I'll pay double and not care. The game is beautiful, the ui is great now, add some content and give me the ability to party for SP and **** you won't even have to take me out to dinner, just tell me where to throw my panties Casanova.

Please just make pt'ing on difficult mobs viable by the December patch, I really, really want to play this beautiful game and not WoW, but if your going to honestly make it 99% solo, just tell me now so I can cry myself to blizzards website... Please don't make me go play with those children SE... Please

Proper camps / setups are simply not established yet. I mean, if you look real hard you can ask the 50's out there as to how the **** they did it. But all I have to say is you want to find 2-3 people TOTAL. (3 to 4 man group) and look for low defense mobs that give decent XP.

You appear to be near 20 ARCH. I advise you get a few friends together and go to the mines north of Camp Black Brush. Nasaharu mines? (sp). Fight Coblyns. I found them to be fantastic SP.

People need to not fret when they see sub-100 sp gains. Look at how fast you'll down them cob's. I was killing them as a duo in 10~15 seconds, and getting 88 SP a kill.

If you look at a normal XI fight, you can expect it to take 45 seconds or so. So with cobs, at 88 / 15 seconds you're still averaging 250 ish XP at a minimum per minuet. It's good XP for sure.

SP / hour is a far better statistic of how well you're gaining points rather than SP/kill.

Anyone have good measures of SP / hour?

That's exactly where the problem is, you're encouraged (or pretty much forced) to kill weakling that die in few hits again and again. A fight with a terrible dragon give 40 more SP than a fight with a rat, very encouraging indeed.

Agree. Currently, the sweet spot is chaining yellow green blue, which is.... not challenging, no fun at all.

If you actually read my post as obnoxious as it was, I wasn't asking for good SP a minute. I dont care about that. I don't care if I could 1 shot coblyns for 1000 SP. Like the poster above me said, I don't want to fight blue mobs that die in 3 hits for the best SP. It's retarded and puts WoW to shame in easy mode.

Here's why you want to measure SP/hour:

Whether you are fighting easy mobs with tiny SP gains or hard mobs with huge SP gains, you still want to be able to level up as quickly as possible. Hence you want to gain as much SP as possible in a certain time period. So if we knew how much SP you can get per hour fighting different mobs within certain level ranges, we can get a good idea of what's best to grind.

Don't see it as "Which gives the most SP with the least amount of work", but more of "Which gives the most SP with the same amount of work"

I think what the OP is trying to say is that he want's the old FFXI style battles that actually required strategy to fight, and viable SP gains from fighting those types of battles. I completely agree that it's no fun to take down a mob in 10 seconds even if it's the best SP/Hr ratio. It's boring.

Remember pullers and tanks and setting up skillchains where the THF would SATA their WS and then the BLM would burst with ancient magic? That took strategy and teamwork and it was entertaining. Everyone had to be on their game for every single mob and had to work together perfectly to kill it in the least amount of time possible. That's what I miss.

Gaining SP now is like taking a chaingun to a bunch of civilians lined up in a row. While effective, it gets old quick.
(Possible bad analogy there, depending on how morbid you are)
