Hi All,
I just want to know from veteran player, can you solo from R30 to R50??

because of RL i can only play from 9:00pm to 1:00am,
but the biggest problem that i live in Asia,
so US and Europe time doesn't work with me :'(
well.. Japan time works, but i can't understand them.

ok so Partying is almost impossible for me :(,
any solution for me ?? thank you _

I can't say for you personally, but the update that changed SP hit when I was 47 and a half. I was pretty determined to find a way to get to 50 since I was already so close and ended up soloing or duoing Sphene Doblyns southeast of Uldah. SP in a duo party could be around 11k per hour without surplus, 7k solo without surplus. Suffice to say, it took anywhere from 10-14 hours per level and it was the most brutal thing I've ever attempted in a game before.
If you want my advice, stay the **** away from ranking up past 30 until they either make it more enjoyable or make it easier like they did with early levels. Currently, it's the most frustrating and mindnumbing experience I've ever encountered and I don't recommend it to anyone. Your character progression is also 100% nonexistant. Once you get passed the point where you can safely solo 40 leves, your levels are worthless.

Hawaiian time should cross with you a lot.

You should look for a Pacific/Oceanic LS (I should too cause it's always dead RIGHT NOW! on FFXIV).

You can solo but it will take forever and ever.

If that's what you got to do, though, that's what you got to do (in my opinion).

i have nothing constructive to contribute here, i just giggled a little at the fact that cornybob has so throughly ruined his reputation here that he even gets defaulted when he offers a helpful post.

His post wasn't rated down. That's just where his posts start. I'm actually about to rate it up because, as you note, it was helpful.

Guess you don't fully understand the Karma system. CB's been nuked and mass rated down, it'll take more than 1 rate up to make him decent or good on each post for a while. As you can see though, enough of us thought his post helpful that he's now got an excellent rating on that post.

posts like this are completely unnecessary. I know you weren't trying to start anything, but this post is total flamebait. I'm glad to see that corny has left it alone and not responded, maybe he is turning over a new leaf.

1) I didn't rate you down, and one rate couldn't "bomb" your post regardless.
2) You think about karma more than is healthy.
3) NOW I've rated you down.

Do Leves every reset in groups, and try to link the ones that net especially good SP with others in your grp.

For example Leves that net good amount of SP on Rank 30s are.

Cassiopeia Hollow: Necrologos Inferno
Cedarwood: Necrologos Lightsome Verdure
Humblehearth: Necrologos Thousandfold Agony

I wouldlike to add that you can also solo around humblehearth and ceaderwood and nophecas wells as they are roughly the same ranks as the monsters in the above formentioned leve dungeons.

in humblehearth you will target opos, marmots, does and crabs.

in nophecas wells you will target fat dodos, hoverfly swarms, and assorted adgoats.

in ceaderwood your terget is fat dodo, hoverfly swarm, and sea puks.

Ceaderwood has a few spots where you can farm wind wlementals directly to the east and earth elementals to the south if your a mage. I dont recomend you attempt to lv up on elementals if you are a melee as i have seem more then a few bold players try their luck only to get faceplanted.

Cassopea hallow has water elementals and thunder elementals that are easy to solo for mages also they do not have as good of a drop rate of crystals and clusters as earth elementals though. But any elemental can drop 6 crystals and a cluster and a moraine or some combination or single element of that loot table.

What does linking the leve do now?

...on those Leves you mentioned I get 3-5k per run. Does linking 2 together net more than that?

...if not it would be better to simply run them back to back.

I've been to afraid to waste one (since it's the best exp I get per hour now) to try linking it.

You do not want to link leves.

if you link them then you can only do them once, if you dont link them you can do them once per person, this nets better SP then soloing as you can use guardian aspect on your levs at least. Since they removed the ability to use guardian on leves that are not yours.

If you do link you cna use gurdian aspect but its hardly worth the increase in sp to link when you can get better gil not linking.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing.

I thought they said they were adding a bonus to linking.

I appreciate the answer but I still don't know what this "bonus" is (or is it imaginary like other "bonus" in XIV?).

With this game anything that gives a Bonus isnt worth doing... Just look at partying for example. XD

I beleive if you don tlink a Leve you get 1500 gil and if you do link a leve you get more then 1500 gil + the gil you would have gotten for doing the leve in first place.

I usually do a leve with for example 14k reward and when im done when linking it i get 17k.

but doing it more then 3 times non linked is better then once linked still.

Just as a reminder...you can use Guardians Aspect on leves that are not yours. I do it all the time on my Leve static ;)

Best way to level beyond R30 is to have a frontal lobotomy. R30-R50 is currently a long, painful, and grinding road whether you are party of solo. It's technically feasible to grind from R30-R50 solo, but I wouldn't say it's advisable, and I probably wouldn't recommend it to anyone (even my worst enemies).

This patch actually forced me to explore other aspects of the game though, and I'm currently having a lot of fun leveling up as a DoL. I'm going to grind out some crafting levels now that I have stockpiled a ton of mats leveling mining, botany and fishing all to rank 10.

I anticipate SE will do something to address the grindiness of leveling post R30. I'd recommend ranking up some other jobs / crafts while waiting for a change from SE, but if you really have your heart set on leveling something beyond 30 right now and you can't even get a duo or trio together, I would try to at least grind on leve's and behest in lieu of a straight grind.
