First Gen NM gear will always be basic looking. That way there is nowhere else to go but up. If you create the coolest looking gear for these Normal NM's. Its gonna be hard to top when you get to HNM gear. Its kinda like you dont give your girls the best gift in the world your first christmas, cause then you have to top it every single year.. start low and work your way up to the good stuff.

I don't mind if it is basic looking - but it can't even be a bit colorful?

I mean seriously - if SE is afraid they wouldn't be able to top a red hauby... that would be pretty sad.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Still hoping for a vintage set with a bit more colorful/cooler stats :)

It would seem people are upset because their armor doesn't include giant shoulder pads and glowing runes new armor models.

I think that's it...

Yes, why try hard every year when you can give strategically worse, but generally effective presents? Must be fun times...

Part of the story arc:

Quote
Tarbh Uisge was captured while still a calf by an ambitious mummer and trained to entertain audiences around Eorzea.

Looks like we may have a glimpse of what might be the name of the BST master class. I wiki'd Mummer and its defined as:

Mummers and "guisers" (performers in disguise) can be traced back at least to the Middle Ages, though when the term "mummer" appears in medieval manuscripts it is rarely clear what sort of performance was involved. A key element was visiting people in disguise at Christmas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mummer

on a side note. These, leve/faction quests, would have so much immersion if they added an audio recording for the text, whenever you opened your journal to check it, and/or before you accepted it. A narration of sorts.

Like a previous poster said... "Tough Crowd".

Am I reading right? Do some poeple here expect a Kirins Osode or something? It's only a leve. If they're going to make it similar like other ones, than you could easily get a group of ppl and put it on 1 star -_-. The reward is fair considering the challenge. Sucks that everyone on the **** server is going to be wearing the same thing though.

I, myself am SICK of guildleves myself. But I have come to accept the fact they
are a good way to make money/SP/EXP/guild tokens/faction credits in little time.

They also are one of "the" main theme of the game (see opening cinematics), so
better get used to them.

...

Now that I think about it, the opening trailer lacks a lengthy chapter on the
adventurous life of a retainer. You know, like, hiding essential ingredients
behind a wall of marmot meat. In the battlecraft ward.
