Templar Armor

Worn by Ishgardian temple knights who have pledged their lives in service of the Fury, this suit of stunning silver plate and chain is an breathtaking display of master craftsmanship.

Edit: BTW i'm sure it's not going to be. just want to discuss lol

I think it says that because of "Halone, mover of glaciers and goddess of war, is the guardian deity of Ishgard." Similar to Llymlaen in LL, Nald'thal in Uldah and Nophica in Grid.

Actually, I thought SE mentioned that down the line your Guardian will give you certain benefits instead of being purely cosmetic and that you'll be able to change Guardians as well.

I remember reading that somewhere as well. It was one of the early "ask the devs" or something I think.

Yea I remember that in one of the old interviews. Wonder if there's still plans for that along with some of the other random tidbits they've mentioned(More hairstyles & changing hairstyle in-game, blacksmiths being able to debilitate metal mobs(which is still on the main site), and well...metal mobs, etc.) Maybe some of that stuff comes post level50?

yeah they said when the guardian actually DOES something (they also said B-day would do something) that existing players would have a chance to change their guardian/birthday

Well, the sylphs in the r26 story quest mention "the metal ones" so I'm guessing they will be part of the main story at some point if nothing else.

Did you choose scientology as your Guardian?

Isn't the metal ones are the Garlean Empire? They have Mechas!

I always thought that all the Coblyns around Uldah where the 'metal based monsters' that Blacksmiths and Miners would effect. They do have a natural progression of higher level ones being made out of tougher minerals. And of course mines tend to be overflowing with them.

But back on topic...I think it would be real cool to have Guardian based armor. It would really be a cool sort of quest/end game content thing. While wearing it you can admire how cool it is while high fiveing other people also in it with a "hay! we have the same guardian!" and also check out other peoples different armor (something like job specific armor)

I doubt Quartz, Peridot and Sphene are considered "Metal". They are rock.

oh, the most I see are copper ones (and I think a silver). So I'm probably rather confused what monster type Coblyn's fall into.

Coblyn/Doblyn (Higher ones are called Doblyn, maybe because they are rock based?) are "Ore"/"Cluster" type monster. Note that you can incapacitate their Cluster on top of their head.

Copper -> Iron (No silver) -> Quartz -> Peridot -> Sphene -> ???? Sphene is the highest I've seen, approximately r45-49.
