What I love about the game are simply the equipment design made for various jobs. Every time someone passes by me with a new jester cap or a lovely belt that's a sash reminding me of some middle eastern clothing I dream of getting the very next armor buying it within a few minutes. However... The equipment wardrobe I browsed both the dat files and on YG bazaar data disappointed me leaving me to suspect that square enix are treating Pugilist like DRGS from XI with limited selections of equipment.

I'd like to direct the feet, pants, & gloves that are offered. Yes, there are some decent ones out there with HP but at a higher (way higher and unavailable atm), but seemingly wont be able to get full stats because it is not my optimal level. However, all other melee and mage jobs have access to these phenomenal gear making them fierce and appearance that wow's the public. Take the equipment of Toadskin wrist guard for example. This item can be worn also on a PUG, however another item similar to this name (toadskin leggings) cannot be worn. Does this make any sense? I can wear one item where another of the same thing can't be worn? Why?

Plus the selection of equipment browsed are less limited than what other jobs offer. I mean, I had to sacrifice the use of Padded duck bill shoes for crying out loud despite I like having the HP from it, it looks terrible walking around with it. They literally look like dress shoes, but I guess I wouldn't be any less happier wearing the leather shoes either (bum shoes fail). In any case, I wore toadskin leggings (brown) now because they look good on me with the pants I'm wearing (velveteen kecks) that make me look like an actual fighter and not a bum.

It might be my opinion, but bear in mind this job is starting to get singled out and I'm not liking this.

My main class is pugilist and I have several tiers of gear collected for it. My high level gear looks pretty good and fits nicely together. I'm not too sure what you mean.

There are multiple types of clothing for each type of leather. Toadskin leggings may not be pugilist but there are other forms of toadskin leg pieces.

Edit: I took a look through the equipment list for pugilist and didn't see any toadskin leg pieces that fit so you're right about that; however, there are still other pieces of equipment which "visually" fit if that matters at all.

Yes yes, but we have less wardrobe selection than other jobs do (excluding crafters/gatherers). Haven't you noticed a difference here? Melees and mages have equipment selection for every other level or every other 5 levels to 10. We, on the other hand, have it probably every other 12 to 10 levels and up (excluding weapons). That's not fair to the system of this job.

This is not true. Pug can wear this many equipment without penalty.

Item # - Slot
15 Weapons
109 Head
129 Body
102 Leg
58 Hand
70 Feet
30 Waist

All without penalty. Are some of them ideal? No, but some are situation and others are better then most. Though you get at least more then a few options. How is this restrictive?

And where do we see 102 pieces of leg equipment at? All other equipment for every other job have been available for a variety of jobs. However, I still stand on my opinion feet, hands, and legs are limited than what other jobs have and can wear. As mentioned, yes we can wear it but we wont be getting the full bonus stats because it's not our optimal job.

Uh those are all favored ones, I didn't list the non favored types:

Breeches, hose, subligar, sarouel are favored
Kecks, tights, slops are suited to them as well.

Spiked Leather Armguards

There you go. I have optimized you until the next patch.
If you want to wear big armor that "wows the public," level GLA, I guess. I don't know what you're whining about.

You can check it on YG database, click on PUG class. You forgot that clothes available in different colour are also counted as different items.

FYI LNC has:
15 Weapons
132 Heads
128 Body
82 Legs
67 Hand
32 Waist
82 Feet

Most classes has pretty much same amount of clothes, with the exception of GLA.

Does it really matter? Wear them anyway if you like their looks. And if you care about performance, unless you're taking damage/tanking, gloves and feet don't much of an impact?

I have a pretty nice collection of "all classes" gear that I use on my pugilist (Scarf, Tabard, Half-gloves, Trousers and Satchel Belt). I wear Caligae despite how ugly I think they are, but I wore dodoskin leggings for a while because they fitted the look so much better.

/thumbs up

Ironicly, I have exactly what I'm wearing now that you have listed. Except, for feet I'm wearing the padded duck bills, lol.
