But has anyone else wished for a separate main/off hand inventory? Like one where only weapons/tools could go?

Maybe a 20 item bag or something?

I have the space for my current setup, I have at least a main weapon for every DoW and Craft and subs/ammo for those I'm focusing on. It doesn't overly impede my gathering ability with a sales point available at the camps, but I'm just kinda lazy and don't like running back and forth to my retainer to swap storage...

I'm thinkng of something way better than what I posted, I just can't seem to write it the way it's in my head...

Well... you already have 100 spots... not to mention when you are equipping the gear... the tab only has your weapons visible.. not really sure what else you are asking for..? More inventory room?

I think the idea of "Item Specific Storage" is a good idea.... reminds me of WoW.. .... allows you to hold more of only specific items.. (Weapons, Logs, ores... etc..) is that what you're talking about?

I wish I could explain it better but yeah more or less a bag soley for class main and off hand items. I'm ok with the current inventory space, but I'd still like a separate bag for my weapons. I like to carry 2-3 sets of my knuckles at the moment for grinding and with the sort function all that stuff ends up at the top of my bag. I'd kinda like a separate mystical black hole bag where I can reach in and only pull out a weapon when I go to change classes or get rid of my damaged one.

*EDIT* Call it an Armory bag I suppose. But 20 slots would be more than generous. I suppose being able to add ammunition or throwing weapons into it would be helpful as well, especially for archers even though they got the stack buff.

Your thinking of a dimentional (sp) pocket. Has more space in it and is hidden away. Call me a geek but, its what Jaraxle's Character has a bunch of lol. He could store a room, and abundance of food's, treasure chests, well pretty much anything on his person at all times. He even stored a whole bag of ears in a button once lol. but thats what i am guessing your trying to say. :)

I would love it if all equipment was stored separately in my inventory. There is not enough space right now for someone doing more than a couple jobs - and especially for anyone that wants to level gathering.

Not to be mean, but I think I'd have to agree with the thread title on this...

You began with 80 slots (+10 bazaar slots)
You were given 20 additional slots AND the loot drops from combat no longer include +1s or +2s, meaning that entirety of your space could be used more efficiently.

So now you want something to add MORE space (functionally this is what you are asking for, be it direct inventory slots or a "slots within a slot" system)...

Sounds to me like what you really need is a lesson or two in inventory management, or to learn to take a break from grinding to sell your garbage more often, or group with someone that can repair your weapons so you aren't carrying 3 or 4 copies... or learn to fix them yourself.

Again, not trying to come across as mean, but really, where does it end? If 100 +10 slots isn't enough, why would 120 +10 be enough, or 140 +10 +20, etc.?

At some point you have to accept a limited inventory space, and work within that limitation, or else you actually ARE just being lazy.

In all kindness,

P.S. = In all due respect to those who don't think there is enough room for multiple jobs... I do multiple jobs, actually every job, and my highest ranked job is Botany so I know perfectly well about how much space can be eaten by gathering. However, I manage all the space for my tools, my weapons, my arrows (Archer r26), 4 sets of armor, jewelry, repair mats, and a few other odds-n-ends AND still manage to free up over 20 slots for gathering.

edited for P.S.

My issues with space will be fixed with more retainers. The prob I have run into is that I am holding onto mats I need for crafting. My plan is, once I can get more retainers, to make one for each craft I have going. Then my problem is solved lol. Weaving Leather and Alchemy take up a lot of room atm. But when i do go out gathering i can get down to about 30-40 open slots. Just my retainer is very full atm lol.

Yeah sorry foxglove but if you don't want more inventory space you don't need to use it if we get it. Gatherers still get +1 and +2. And as a fisher I have to carry at least 4-8 baits and lures in order to be effective. (Usually on the high end of that since dropped bait is so hard to get that I can't afford to let go of it once I have it)

So just taking up fishing pretty much took over any increase I got in inventory. Then I took up cooking - and when you are a cook trying to make anything for less than a fortune you hold on to every lettuce and tomato you get with the knowledge that if you don't you will cry so hard later.

So yeah. I suspect you haven't made frog legs lately but that takes 8 ingredients.

If I had 3+ million gil maybe I would throw all of my veggies and spices away (aka npc them for nothing) but I have less than 200K right now so if I did that it would mean no more cooking for me for a long time.

Yeah, more retainers would be fine but since I don't see them giving us more retainers while the game is free to play I need some frigging inventory NOW.

I've always thought that equipment you are wearing should not count towards your inventory. You're wearing it, so why would you have to carry it around with you too? I don't know how easily this would be to implement, but it seems like it would open up at least a few slots. Not quite as much as having a separate inventory for weapons (which is an idea I like), but it would help somewhat.

Agreed. Logs, Ores and Fish. If these went into in a tab like shards and crystals then gatherers would be able to enjoy the 100 spots of inventory and still gather on a whim.

Right now it seems best to empty out inventory space and go directly from the retainer to gathering and back.

Even if baits were stored seperately it would be more fair - since the patch they made changes that make it really hard to fish using an incorrect bait... and I am not just talking fresh/saltwater I am talking - cave -pond - stream - shoreline - open ocean + locational differences.

Eh?

We already got the inventory space they offered.

I think he way I need to describe it is this...

Normal inventory would not allow the weapons/tools to be stored, only this secondary bag would allow those items.

Maybe he is suggesting losing equal spaces in main inventory when you put stuff in your "main/offhand weapon bag"

So if you have 5 sword in that bag, your inventory maximum becomes 95. Basically it's just a separate tab for just weapons

I posted the same idea a long time ago, before we got the bonus spaces. I don't think you're being lazy. I hoard mats so my retainer is full ATM with things I'll be using in the future. I have about 12 spots open on my person but that gets full real quick while gathering. I would be fine with some items stacking higher than they do...lumber stacks to 99 but leather stacks to 12?

Nah just a separate inventory system for your weapons or tools, not armour or other body slots. I don't mind carrying a crafting set and a fighting set... I just hate deciding between being able to do whatever on a whim and having less inventory space or running back to my retainer to switch out a few weapons/tools. I carry a set of almost everything on me so I have less than 70 slots for inventory. And while I feel 70 is a lot, it's not when I do multiple things during a journey.

I fight low rank mobs on classes I'm not passionate about, then when I get to higher mobs I switch to something else, and my ultimate destination is usually for PGL (as it's my highest DoW). Also on the way I may decide to hit a few sparkly points with my DoL but I don't usually because I'm concerned I'll gimp my inventory space for grindfarming or craftin which is what I also do when I get to the camp I'm headed to for whatever DoW.
