I've only logged on a few times since the november update and i as well as everyone else has been complaining about the sp system. Well i'm ready to stop complaining and move forward. I'm currently a r31 Pug and have no clue what i should be grinding for sp. What should i grind solo and what should i grind in groups? how many should be in the group? what should be in the group as far as class?

I appreciate any help

Find a group.

Don't party with them, just find one at a R30/R40 camp. Every hour, do a behest with them (grouped). Off the hour, kill puks/coblyns (if avaliable), and if not avaliable, whatever else you can manage (ungrouped).

Yeah it's hard to say now with the SP being changed as far as solo, but I think hippocerfs in Coerthas should net you decent SP at your level, maybe Cellar Puks in Nanawa Mines with a few bombs and djiggas thrown in and even Swordbreakers(just make sure to lop of the head), at 34 I was netting about 50 SP per kill on puks, 100+ on bombs and Swordbreakers(literally a full day here took me to 35, I had my reasons though for going this mind numbing route to 35), at 31 SP should be better than what I was getting. Of course there's always leves and behests which took me to 36 with some intermittent solo grinding. 36-38, I've been for the majority of the time in Mistbeard doing Yarzons and Bombs, it's slow but yarzons are easy to kill and getting a 100+ SP per kill, little downtime in between mobs. I think feasibly I can go to 40 just solo grinding in Mistbeard, with eyes and hyenas and hopefully eventually the Buccaneers being next on the list for SP'ing on.

As far as groups, I've only had 3-4 SP groups the whole time I've been playing, none after the Nov. update, but behests seem to be a good route for groups if you don't mind the wait between behests. Copperbell Mines maybe, on Ants? Other than that, I can't say.

Let's be clear though, solo grinding is long and tedious, especially the more you climb up the ranks. I think it's safe to assume you won't get more than a 1-3 ranks a week starting at your level, add in fatigue which seems to hit every rank that you get(at least for me now at my rank). Gotta have the right mindset to be able to sit there for hours killing the same mob over and over, I can do it, don't know how, but I just plod through it.

Hopefully we see a fix on the SP and this whole fatigue thing done away with.

I've been soloing the quartz doblyns around broken water. They are quick kills, fast sp, and they spawn quick.

I have been finding that a party of 5 or so players all within appropriate level ranges (+/-5, even though they (SqEnix) say +5/-10 is appropriate) and do leve's that are linked. I was getting upwards of 275sp per kill on some leve's Mind you that is limited to whatever leve's you can link up and then there are only 8 allowable for every 36 hours... but it does help. The other suggestions are as equally valid and help fill in the time between other things. Doing a combination of all 3 (linked leve's, behests, and soloing) will usually benefit you over the long run.

1) Doblyns near Camp Broken Water in Uldah

2) Get into a LS that does regular leveling from 30+ even if they only do that.

3) Find someone willing to duo, archers are better since they kill mobs much faster than others

The problem with grinding 30+ is that is is mind numblingly boring now.

Your best bet in terms of most efficient SP gains is Cooperbell mines fighting Doplyn and Mites. However, you are best duoing or trioing and you will need a healer as the mites hit like a truck.

Although we were making very good sp per hour, it is tedious running around in a circle killing mobs that die in a few hits.

I have also found soloing in the Mun Tuy Cellars from 35-36 lancer to be very good. Each mob gives 40-60 sp and you can plow through them with very little downtime. Again this is mind numbingly boring and each level takes several more hours to grind.

Sorry I should have made my post clearer - there is no group dynamic anymore. We used to have Eft parties but under the new SP system they are pointless. You will earn more sp an hour in a duo or trio party.

Therefore, your best bet for sp is to duo or trio in Copperbell Mines on Doblyn or at any of the other Doblyn camps mentioned.

Any party more than 3 person is pretty pointless and I do not think anyone is bothering, or many at any rate. Certainly not for grind parties, many people are grouping for leves though

You are honestly best trying to duo or trio until high lvl sp and party sp changes / is fixed

I don't think Efts have become pointless. Traveling around I find efts to give very good SP especially if you party up at around lvl 30-40. They're fast kills in a group.

In my experience, a 4-5 man party lvls 30-40 can kill an eft within 30 secs. They pop about 130 SP each. Why would you want to solo something for 40-60 sp a pop at the same lvl?

Tonight, my group was handling 2 (sometimes 3 - but rarely) at once and they kept coming... I had a blast fighting them. No one died because our tank was awesome.
