not sure myself but I'm assuming if you are capped thats it, no stats from items will break the cap. So if your STR is capped, 4x sunstone rings won't do anything.

This is what I think but others who actually know the answer feel free to chime in.

I'm almost 99% sure that the str+ will break the cap... I feel like this was tested already.. but sadly I don't have the link....

This seems relatively easy to test though... hopefully the difference between 88str and 108str would be fairly obvious...

I wish you all would stop assuming STR caps the same as MND/VIT cap on MP/HP...because it doesn't. Your STR is not capped at 88, and the +STR gear would count even if you were.

Spreading misinformation makes people think they should do things like waste inventory space on Four-Leaf Mandragora buds.

Original post on FFXIVCORE about MND/VIT caps.

Post that clarifies what is actually capped at those values, and what we do know about stat caps in general.

Link to proof STR does not cap the same as VIT/MND. The cap at the level I was testing should be 60 STR if the caps were universal, but clearly is not.

It might, however, have diminishing returns after that point, the way MND does (and likely VIT does as well). If the STR you equip might have less value after a certain point, that's definitely something to consider.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
I believe equipment stats currently does not count in point allotment stats cap. (except for additional HP/MP effects by VIT and MND)
Meaning if you are capped on STR from point allotments, you can still stack STR stats given from equipments. But I rather wear stats from equipments which point allotment couldn't provide, such as + accuracy, etc.

If you look a little closer, instead of skimming the posts and making more ASSumptions, you'll see that we are all talking about post-release caps. You are not capped @ 88STR when you are rank 24, and even if you were the rings don't count towards the cap, but hey, ignore the hours of research other people have done so that you could have this information.

I'm tired of getting rated down for trying to help you all understand this simple point that has been confirmed for at least 2 months, so from now on go ahead and cap your stats wherever you deem the cap, and that will be the cap for you. Some people on these boards clearly aren't interested in actually getting the answers.

Hey Guys, so i just did a test on this with str gear today. Here is the quick background on class and amount of str i was using on the test.

29 pgl 102str base (capped according to the chart i use taken from this site) and 129str in all of the gear i could muster up for this test.
Target tested on was a yellow con Antling Digger.

For the test i used the same exact mob for both the str gear set and non str gear set, since i wanted to take out the whole "are they really the same lvl factor". I did 100strikes (taken from log) of both str gear and non str gear. I ended up resetting the antling multiple times for this test.

The average strike (only heavy strike was used) for 129str at r29 pgl was 56.29dmg per strike.

The average strike (only heavy strike was used) for 102str at r29 pgl was 49.15dmg per strike.

The gain wasn't amazing but it was certainly noticeable, ruffly a 15% dmg gain on heavy strike.

Hey man,
what ur trying to tell me? <.< I don't ignore the work of others but i wanna discuss, cuz for a lot of members (like me) it is not really 100% clear! I rated u down?! Not really, why should I? But if you think so ok have a nice day!

Back to topic:
I tested it a little by myself today. Increased STR to 120 and i see that i make a little more damage, so the rings should really count.

Greetings
