I see a lot more people doing behest now and wanted to point out one thing, it is not a free for all. only one group of mobs can be killed for experience at a time. If the mob name is in red then it will give exp, otherwise the exp is lost.

....and it is to your advantage to join a party as the more people that play means the more mobs therefore the more sp!

I think the OP is refering to the fact that you only get SP for the mob or group of mobs that are 'engaged' (i.e. their names are red). If you kill another monster, even if it is a behest monster, if the name is yellow you won't get the SP for the kill or for any other monsters killed until the engaged mob with the red name is killed. And even then if the second monster you go onto has its HP reduced already you will tend to get less SP then if you had killed it fully after the first one. So it doesn't matter that with a larger party number behest that you get more monsters if the group splits up and attacks 2 lots at once you will get half the SP.

Personally when I go on behests with large numbers, I take the initiatve and tag them (in the emote menu there is a section for 'Enemy Signs') which puts a little image of a sword or a skull over the head of the next creature to attack. Sometimes doing this means I have to dissengage from the monster we are on before it is fully dead to mark the next one, but it is worth it. That little icon has the power to surpass language difficulties and I find that the behests run much more smoothly and efficently with a concerted effort on one group at a time with everyone in accord.

All aetheryte camps will have a Behest Battlewarden that will spawn on the hour, every hour. The 15 man limit means that usually if you put (Battlewarden) (Party) (Do you need it?) in auto-translate will very usually net you responses from others to join, meaning that especially during peak hours, you'll be part of a 15 man Behest party. My experience with them did involve AoE skills at times, but marking your targets is extremely useful.

Edit - if you are near the Aetheryte or Camp, a /say message will appear in your chat box from the Battlewarden NPC asking you to join up :-)

Sadly this is why I don't do Behest anymore... In my experience you try to form a party yet people don't care and want to do it solo. Here's a recent example:

A few LS members and myself figured we'd join in for a Behest so roughly 10 minutes before it we all grouped together and started shouting for others who wanted to join in the battle. Quickly enough we gathered 15 members and one started shouting to everyone else that we were full and to please do not talk to the Battle Warden to join. Sure enough soon as it spawned everyone began scrambling to join in the Behest locking out about 5-6 people from our party. Their excuse was that nobody owns the Behests and they could do as they see fit. This was two parties outside our own consisting of about 2-3 members each. Despite reasoning they just wouldn't listen became very vulgar and taunted us for it. I tried to leave myself so a healer in our group could join but someone outside of it quickly took their spot. End result, it was a loner who wanted to solo it all.

Sadly once the Behest started the larger party I had been a part of before dropping just ran after random targets eventually ******* off the leader who just disbanded the whole party altogether. Of course it didn't help the one who asked everyone not to join after the party was formed started yelling at the others who did, making it worse. I agree that you're free to join a Behest if you wish to but it's highly disrespectful to do it even after being asked not to and then refusing to join together just to be an even bigger ****...

Appears to be one of the new ways to sp.

Behest - 3 leves - behest - 3 leves ...
Nets very fast and easy SP.. especially when you group starts to pick up in numbers. Much more fun and more efficient than just regular old grinding.

I agree, I don't have a lot of time to play so that really all I do is behest and leves. I wish the rewards for behest were better but then it would probably get a lot more chaotic like how some people here have described.

Maybe when they add the hamlet defense everyone keeps talking about we'll start to see some cool things get added.

Behest "difficulty and amount of mob" is not determined by the size of your group, but by the amount of players who signed in for the behest. If you group up with everyone or just go out killing solo doesn't affect the difficulty.
In the end you're getting more SP by killing stuff solo, but on the other hand you're gonna kill less mobs overall, sicne the other ppl will kill as well, so I advice everyone to join up for behests and just get it done quickly, instead of "competing" and try to kill more mobs than others.

Behests are regularly done by people on Rank 1-30 camps now...almost no chance to get one of these behests solo or for your group alone, therefore I'm glad I'm running around Rank 40 camps where not many people roam around and can join the behest except for my static leve group*selfish ****^^

1 Of the other problems with this, is mage aoe spells aggroing other mobs in the vincinity. This leads to people moaning about attacking yellow mobs..trouble with that is, when a non behest mob is beating on your mage...what do you do ?

Yeah that seems to be the pattern 3 leves and behest.
