Ideas for the Market wards...Follow

So ladies and gents it's become apparent that about 40% of the threads on here are complaints about MW and QQ's for an AH. Whatever your opinion on the matter its looking like MW is here to stay for the forseeable future. So instead of negative feedback and begging for an ah let's put some positive suggestion as to how to improve the system. Here is what I have so far:

A ward for crystal sellers

A ward for repairs
So if my MRD gear was all humped I could dump it on a retainer and leave it in the ward, come back the next day hoping it was repaired (if you have mats you could even offer required mat in trade for repair)
Or if like me you have a majority of crafts lvld you could pop in there with a bag of mats and make some Gil! Makes getting repairs a tad easier.

Although the search function is on the horizon I still think there should be a higher penalty for people selling in the incorrect ward. Spnding 2 hours in LL today in battleward and at least 60% had no weapons in. Perhaps if a retainer does not have the correct items in for a relative ward, be it from poor set up or selling what was there they are either moved auto to a ward that is representative of the majority of the items they have in stock or are just booted out of that ward within a certain time.

In the future when a mailbox is available I'd like to receive mail from my retainer. A letter from your retainer would not only help you keep track of what had sold but also add a bit more emmersion. E.g. "Hey there Castiel, just thought I'd drop you a note to inform you that the bronze doming hammer you gave me has sold (maybe a player name who bought it here) for 30,000! I'll keep the Gil here with me until you get here. See you soon. Armittie"
Maybe have 10-20 generic messages to mix it up some. Or go the xi route with companions where their responses to you differ depending on your relationship with them.

Any more feel free to add. Hopefully a positive input to the current system will spark the imagination of the dev's.

Cassy! (o.O)b

Well we know the wards are being altered a bit in this update

pre search function what I would like to see to help

1) More defined wards, basicaly, they need to be more specific on what to sell in them, "weaponseller ward, armorseller ward" etc etc
2) Stricter penalties to those who sell in the wrong ward! i swear give them a 20-50% tax on the wares that are in the wrong spot and see how it goes. with 2 retainers as of this update, they have no room to complain about putting retainers in the correct spots.

right now its players who are making the system not work, but little pushes on SE's behalf could really help it out alot

and remember "just give us an AH" doesnt help top solve this solution, actual realistic(yes, realistic) answers to how to work with the current system are what is needed

Could an admin move this to the feedback forum as I believe it would do more "good" there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Another add on idea - Make it so Large Linkshells or NPC guilds can sell in the Wards for you.

Each linkshell has it's own shop in each ward, where you dump all your wares and get the shop owner to sell them, tax set by the LS, NPC group and by Ward choice. The 'shop' can sell a higher number of items, but only items of a certain type dependant on ward.

Basically, what market in the world has a load of people standing round holding 7-10 items for sale - NONE

Markets have stalls, own by individuals or groups. Something along those lines would be cool to see in addition to what they're doing.

If you knew a certain LS had a load of goldsmiths and blacksmiths, you'd know exactly where to look all the time and in which ward.

Add search function to this and it would be both fun and functional.

Nice idea. :)

Even though I love the idea of more specific wards, I would appreciate some wards being removed. For example, why is there a Hatters Ward? Why aren't helmets and the like included with armor? Ditto for the Cobblers are armor too.

One of the reasons so many people sell random stuff in "any" ward is because they only have one of that type of item. And several different types altogether. :D So, atm, if you want to sell a full set of gear, you need to do the Armorer's Ward, Cobblers Ward, Hatters Ward, Jewelers Ward, and Glovers Ward. The reward needs to be better for using the appropriate ward, as mentioned above, but that could be helped by simply combining these particular wards.

Personally, I think that they should give the people who purchase a stall an "item bonus". Instead of your retainer selling, what, 12 items(?) make it so someone with a stall can sell up to 24. It would give them more functionality over "Well, it looks nice so it'll attract more customers."

Another idea would be to simply ban certain items from being bazaared in certain wards. Either make it to where Moko Grass doesn't show up on a sellers list in the Armorers Ward, or you get a message from your retainer saying "Oh, I'm sorry, I can't sell that here!" when you try to place the item in the bazaar to be sold.

I'll be the first to say, I still really want an AH, but it doesn't look like we're getting one, so might as well try and make Market Wards as bearable as possible. I also really like the mail idea with the personalized messages. Definitely increases the whole immersion of the process.

My wife and I have both remarked recently, "Oh, something sold, but I can't remember what it was..."

If we know what has a higher demand, we can seek the material out, and sell more of it. A mail from the NPC (use NPC linkpearl, I suppose) would go a long way.
