SE needs to realize that in the long run, the only system players will be satisfied with is an auction house. Period. They can keep piling additional functionality like browse/search onto the market wards until they have a de facto auction house, or they can just impliment an auction house direclty a la FFXI.
And if it takes them half a year to build up an AH feature, would you be fine with the marketplace as is for the time being? I sure as **** would like some hotfixes to ease the problems, but maybe that is just me.
You think an entire game takes about 2-3 years to build (in general) and an auction house will take 1/6th that amount? they don't have monkey's working for them; I bet if they wanted to put an AH in the game it wouldn't take longer than a month to implement. Anyway, this said, I think the wards can work with a search feature (detailed above in my other post) with the slight inconvenience of you having to walk to the retainer, which I think would be OK as long as they don't show prices of items I guess...that is what they're after isn't it? I honestly have no idea how supply and demand will work in this game - I mean does SE not realize that even if they don't show "price history" for example, players will find other ways to determine the "going price" such as YG, such as FFXIAH (and now FFXIV-AH) etc.
Honestly, they should just cave and give us an AH, but I do like one thing though..******* they come they go...saturday through sunday, monday, monday through sunday yo, maybe i'll love u one day, maybe we'll some day grow, 'til then just sit your drunk *** in the funky *** marketplace yo. (uuhhhmmmm seriously though, I like the fact that people can put stuff up for repairs and seek certain items to buy through their retainers, If they do implement an AH they better somehow keep this functionality if in turn they get rid of the wards).
as much as I'd like one, I think some people would go berserk if they actually put in a browse system.
I can't come up with any reasons as to why can you help me out please? Edited, Dec 15th 2010 4:03am by SolidMack Edited, Dec 15th 2010 4:03am by SolidMack
