Question in regards to mobs during behestFollow

Tonight I got into my first behest party! *yay!* It was fun, I had a blast.

However, I didn't pay much attention to the mob, cause I was too busy acting as a medic. However, during the battle, my AOE wasn't working. I always have my AOE on because my hubbie and I are always duoing and I never really use AOE offensive spells. I keep it on for cure alone and just melee with my hubbie.

I was just wondering, do some mobs have an ability to negate your AOE or maybe I found another bug? Because I was spammning Sac and Cure during the fight and the animations looked as if it was only hitting me and not my party. However once Behest was done and we got back to camp, I checked my AOE cure and it started to work, hitting my party.

Has this happened to anyone? Or was it a bug or just the mob using an ability?

Thanks.

Definitely not a mob skill. I've done many Behests and cure/sac always work on aoe. Was most likely a bug. Glad it got fixed, but if it happens again, i'd suggest just relogging.

Edit: Did you pay attention to weather or not it was healing them? You mentioned the animations, but the animations in this game are messed up pretty badly in this game sometimes, so it could have been working normally, with screwy animations.

Buffs and cures are only AoE if your a mage class.. if your "melee"ing then they are single target spells

Osarion = Red Mage
Mikhalia = Black Mage Evilwizardington
FinalFanXIV = Fighter McWarrior
All we are missing is Thief, Clan Khee'Bler and we will have the full Light Warriors party.

I assumed by "Meleeing" she was referring to phantom/spirit dart, but i could be wrong. Good point nonetheless, aoe only works if you are DoM, but she also mentioned it worked afterward, so i assumed she was either Con or Thm.

It is very common for AOE to miss, or completely not work... Unfortunately it is a bug at this time. I have tested it extensively and as conjurer, there are many places people can stand where my cure/protect/shell will just not hit them at all.

Edit: I forgot to mention it is not distance, and it seems to be a height variation. Say if I am standing on a small rock, my aoe will only hit me and not my party members. I can't say for certain of course, but it happens often enough for me to curse SE! :p

For you people having trouble. You need to understand that most your aoes take a cone shape from you. It's not some magic circle around the mob. Once you figure that out you'll miss a lot less of what you were trying to get. So if you aoe heal and you swivel to some guy on your left those guys on your right outside the cone are screwed more than likely

Apparently the Z or X key toggles AOE (never tried it) so maybe you pressed one of those by accident?
