Sorry but I am calling the thread here: it has, thanks to the above, reached the apex of win and, as such, there is nowhere left for it to go but down. Two internets for you; I would give three but, well, two is all I have.

A goblin I was fighting failed his bomb toss, but it didn't kill him. This happened in XI, too.

So I know this doesn't completely answer your question, but at the same time ! it does.

I was in KRT once, waiting for some friends, so I sat down near one of the entrances to the underground. A Goblin Thug aggros me just because I was sitting, apparently not realizing I'm a level 75 PLD. It proceeds to miss me EIGHT times before I stand up and one-shot it.

Got something even funnier. Was in Zi'Tah sitting for MP and went to cook dinner. Came back I was standing up and low hp. Reading through the chat log a Gobby had agro'd, and over the course of 30 minutes got me down to about ~200hp before doing Bomb Toss on himself. AFK RDM > Goblin apparently xD

Does anybody happen to have any pictures of goblins from any Final Fantasy games OTHER than FFXI? I'd be curious to know how they look. I've played most of the single player FF games, but I'm old and can't for the life of me remember even seeing any goblins in other FF games.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Thanks!

What I take away from looking at that page is that the goblins in FFXI and FFXIV look way different from any other FF goblin, and that saying that making them look like FFXI goblins was just keeping with FF tradition is incorrect.
