Just so you know, it doesn't HAVE to be that way. There's a thing call Quality Assurance and if used properly it can mitigate many if not all game breaking issues. But as long as people keep 'expecting' bugs, companies are happy to keep QA to a minimum.
QA also takes time to be done right, which SE is severely lacking. Can you imagine the uproar if they had said "We're going to be testing the patch and it won't be out until the very end of december or early january?" The community is ****** and putting a LOT of pressure on SE to get things fixed sooner than instantly (and rightfully so).
IMHO it's pretty understandable that SE would opt to put out a good-enough set of changes with several minor bugs NOW, rather than wait another several weeks to put out a "perfect" patch.
