SE deserves a little clap this round~Follow

I think I am officially happy so far for this update.

while I am not too thrilled on the further complication of the retainer's ward, I am happy that I get another free 110 storage slots. (I notice that people starting to use the wards more correctly though, and I learned how to use controller and mouse at the same time to check retainers, and it is a lot easier.)

I am willing to give SE a shot on the market ward system, because with the UI and latency improvements, I am willing to sacrifice a little convenience for the chance of creating a less cut throat economic system.

crafting process is a bit more intuitive now, although I am not sure why they can't make the crystal requirement and the amount of material there is left in the same window, but I can definitely live with this now.

selling stuff to npc is much painless now.

crafting seems more predictable now, and I like the new sound, I think when that sound is out, it means the attempt has no durability loss.

I haven't played any combat jobs since November update. I wish there is more tweaks and improvements on the coming updates. Honestly, if I will have to grind hours upon hours day after day, they better make combat more fun.

I think SE did a fine job this round. SE deserves a little pat on the back from the players. They have gotten enough bashing, I think it's time to show them a little bit of encouragement.

GOOD JOB SE!! KEEP UP!!

Wow the patch is about 251MB, I was thinking they would make a simple adjustment but ****... snow in the city? That's a good way to put a smile on people's face when they log in :D I'll need to experiment the rest at home tonight!

Yes SE really worked hard it seems. We are getting into the right direction. I also now sense a different feeling while playing because it is less "god **** dkasöfösafjö" and more of "ooooh" and "aaaah" and "omg goblin ruuuuun".

I never was a person which crafted alot but... hey now it really is alot of fun. I will craft more now.

Thank you SE!

Indeed, it's really all the small things that make me smile. Coloured borders for gear damage, not having to reopen the item selection screen for each material, among others. Some expected, others not but I have yet to see a change I dislike in this update.

this update is pure win. The music is nice, the snow is really cool and made me not want to leave the city.

Got to fight the buffalo NM on my 31 thm with a bunch of other 30s and a few 50s, but it enraged around 40%, although it was very easy to tank it.

So many more people on right now and recruiting is crazy for lv 40+s for the NMs.

The UI for selling and crafting are now officially usable too. Less lag it seems.

They still need to fix the macro system though, and maybe have better way of doing keybinding, but hey there's another update this month.

Game is really active all around, I think this is a good first miracle patch.

This update was great with some fixes but more importantly, a great festive feel.
Think SE earned themselves a merry Xmas.

Hope people at SE will find more strength through the sea of QQs and push this game through so it will be ideal to everyone! (even the haters~!) :D

Good start I agree, step in the right direction I agree. Every journey begins with a step outside your door. But fix my party system for gods sake lol! At this point the game is becoming quite playable compared to release, but we need beter party system implemented asap. Good party seek function would be a huge step in the right direction. and monster sp adjustments based on difficulty and I think we have a winner. Over all cudos SE! Keep up the good work and fix parties now!
thanks for your time,
Big Jer

It is hard to say they deserve a clap considering most of this stuff should have been there from the start. Things like being able to abandon a local leve or the changes to synth(though it still feels like it could do without a few more confirmation windows). But the Christmas themed music + snow in the towns won me over lol. I hope next year things will be running smoothly so we can have a Halloween event

They don't deserve a clap until they actually add significant CONTENT. 4 r50 NMs are not content. UI updates that the game should have launched with are not content.

I must have missed the memo when SE stated this patch was releasing ridiculous amounts of content. For what they promised, they delivered with this patch. Very good patch, and i'll throw my /clap to them for delivering on what they promised and improved things. If you were expecting all this "content" when they never stated in ANY announcement that it was coming, then thats your fault.

yeah, don't expect that to change. People will put their stuff in the most popular ward, which currently is the weapon ward, in order to get the highest viability, while lowering the competition from the people in the proper ward.

And yet they gave you everything they have promised (as long as search comes at end of the month)
Major story content was listed as coming in the march update before the original ps3 release date.

Will this timeline change? Probably somewhat. I am assuming content will slowly be roles out over the next few months instead of being held and released all at once. There is however the fact that there currently is also no set dTe on when they will start charging so each day that they don't charge is costing them money so you can bet they are in culottes getting everything they can out to make the game chargeable and one of those things is content and lots of it.

I am fully confident that with someone in charge who is looking to make a name for himself, there will be alot of updates (of some sort) coming in the following months. Whether they are what the player base is wanting/needing will decide the outcome of the ps3 release and ultimately the games future.

When I logged on yesterday, I felt the same way. It's beginning to feel the way it should have; a bit more polished, and more well rounded.

They changed things like repair ingredients and some other things I didn't specifically see mentioned.

I know this probably won't happen, but I'd love to see a big patch like this every month all the way until the PS3 launch.

I gotta be honest, this game is definitely headed in the right direction, but it still has a long way to go. This patch and the ones before it have helped, but it's gonna take time. I think it has a solid year of updates minimum needed to bring it up to par.

I really don't understand this concept... why would you want to put yourself into a ward with a literal OCEAN of other retainers when you can put it in the proper ward, sell stuff just as fast to the people who are actually LOOKING for it, and alleviate some of the congestion in said first few wards? It truly baffles me that people do this. Yes there are more people that go through the first few wards, but there's a HECK of a lot more competition from other retainers there too. I strongly feel it actually makes MORE sense to sell in the proper, less-crowded wards. I've done this and my stuff sells lightning fast.

edit: Sorry, just wanted to clarify that this was not directed at you Kuja, just the people who do this.

Its basically a snowball effect. Wards sort of hit a critical point where everyone just went to battlecraft, so thats the place people go to find stuff, so more people put their stuff in there.

I know more players are going to open my bazaar if I'm in the first ward, so it makes more sense to put my stuff in there. You forgo the customer base of people who are checking specific wards for specific items, but then again if I didnt have that item anyways, I wouldn't have sold anything. If I do put my guy in the weavers ward, and the guy next to me has a cheaper hempen robe, he's going to get the business because theres so few people in there its easy to check them all for the best price.

But in the same regard, if you put your stuff in the battlecraft ward, there's just as good a chance that the same person will end up finding the robe on a different retainer before he even gets to yours, and because he/she doesn't want to risk losing/forgetting it, he/she will buy theirs and you'll still be SoL. It's definitely a double-edged sword, but I honestly don't believe that parking yourself in the battlecraft ward does any more for your business than being in the appropriate ward. Now, if you are just selling 10 slots of random crap, I guess I could understand the logic... but even if you have just two items of 1 ward, it makes more sense to sell there.

This made me gleeful. The snow causes too much lag for me but I still stood around like a prat staring at it for a good 5 minuettes. I've always liked the market ward idea because it's possible to see every price offered for a particular item and not just the last 10 or 24 or whatever that have sold. This game is shaping up nicely. But I still want icons over all the crafters selling the item I'm looking for.

Dr. Horrible?

One thing I really like about this patch is the timers on weakness and such, it sucked before not knowing how long you had left.

The only thing I'm really not digging on is the controller glitch with NPC selling. If any one else runs into this, you basicly can't do anything in the window with keyboard or controller... just use the mouse to close the sale window and everything sorts itself.

Yeah it happens, but as a known issue that's been reported I think the sure fix is coming in about a week or so. And if the next patch is anything like this patch... not sure how much complaining will be left is party sp is fixed next. :deadhorse: haha

I was playing this weekend. I had left it for a couple weeks after the Nov patch, but I got on to get the Xmas goodies and also a friend was jumping back in the game, so it was me, my bro and my friend grinding the teen ranks.

I have to say the game is much friendlier. When I crafted, I was like, whooaa! Just pick the mats and go. It's still irritating how I can't chat when crafting, but at least the process is much faster. For gear damage, the display is so much better. Still sucks that I have to take off my gear to repair, but I can live with that.

We grinded as a 3 mage party on Rank 30 leves, it wasn't too bad, but the targeting system still leaves much to be desired. At least I can click party member names to select. But when I try to target a whole mass of mobs, I find my cursor more often than not on a dead body. SE, when the thing is dead, can you just make it unselectable. It's not as if I'm doing anything more to the body, right? At least I hope not... My bro usually tanks as melee class, so his complaint is worse, that it's hard to select the mob to grab hate. ST is wonky. He never had issues in FFXI.

Now that we're playing more and having a bunch of different jobs, I think SE really really needs to implement a Set Save system. I have several gear setups and action setups, not just for each job but for when I party or solo. It's a **** pain to remember and setup everything I switch around. And I switch around a lot, because hey, the game lets you play a lot of jobs. That's kinda the point right? The way things are now, I can't be bothered, if I'm forced to switch jobs to get guildmarks, I stay that way until I'm trying to get guildmarks for another job.

I think SE would really unlock the potential of the game if they allow players to save and load the "sets" that they create in Gear and in Action & Traits. This should not be difficult at all. I don't play other MMOs but I did play a ton of Monster Hunter and I spent a long time optimizing my Gear, not just for specs but for looks as well! If I could save gear sets, I'd have a set for walking around town, a set for a job solo, a set for party, a set for lower ranking, higher ranking, cute set, badass set, you get the idea :)
