Party Rcruiting System... Really????Follow

You cant seek a party in this game. Instead of the method used in 11 where people say " I want to party" and then someone decides to gather people looking. They completely flipped the method around where now someone has to say " I want to make a party" and then people who want a party have to go through a search function that is sort of confusing, and then they will get a list of people who are looking to make a party.

Its like in 11 when you couldn't find a bard or a tank so you hear people shouting in whitegate that they need said job. it rarely ever works. Also when you decide to recruit for a party people can automatically join your party no matter where they are in the world, but you can only recruit for 60 minutes at a time.

I've tried both ends of the coin and I've joined party ONCE since launch that actually killed mobs that i would not have been able to kill solo. All the other times I've looked for parties its some guy needing help with a guildleve or someone who put their recruit requirements at level 1-50 so everyone would see their posting.

Most of the time all using this feature is good for is finding one or two more people to kill the things that you can solo, but doing it a little faster to get more XP or loot from guildleves. Another thing that doesn't make sense is you can make you party and declare what it's for, but the only options are regional leves and quests. So there is no option to say that you just want to EXP unless you put it in the comment at the bottom of the screen.

Right now, even if they fixed the party search function, it would be pointless because party SP is bad.

There's nothing wrong with the party search system.

Prior to the November patch that broke party SP, it was very very easy to find a party. It would have the location, you would join, teleport there, and kill with them. 80%+ of the parties that I joined were via that system, because there are many places (well, kind of) that I could party at my level (Nine ivies efts, treespeak efts, coetheras raptors, tam tara efts- too hard to just go to each zone and see if there is a party)

Currently, there is no point in partying outside of behests and leves, so nobody uses the search function. When there was a point, many people used it.

There isn't really anything wrong with it, it does work if you know how to use it. But people still don't. Its so unintuitive and over complex. Its like they built it with the idea that if a guy wants to grind, but someone sees hes seeking party and is asked if he wants to do leves that its a huge insult/inconvenience or otherwise awful thing to happen so they don't even let him show up.

The current recruitment system is working, but there are also missing functions. I cannot start looking for a party without actually being the leader, I see this causes a lot of problem with many players.

When you start a party, you are the leader, you have to take the responsibility of a leader, such as having the ability to lead a group to successfully gain SP efficiently.
-know where to camp
-know what mob to hunt
-know the efficient way and strategy, jobs and weapon type needed for such exp mob

So if you are not a good leader, starting a recruitment will not end well.
people who join you might not have a clue where to camp, what mob to hunt for, how to get to the camp and will end up having a group of people thinking SP party sucks completely at the end. This is all due to the leader's responsibility. It would also be great if you can search for other party leaders' position, so as a leader, you can know ahead of time if the camp is already full or not before sending your party out there.

For players who are new to the game, the only way to get into SP party is to either, already know a friend who he/she can follow or aimlessly shout in town at camps asking for a SP party invite. Since if they start recruiting as leader themselves, they better know where to go and what to do, which is impossible.

For that, you can just throw your LFG flag up and let your name be searchable, and leave all those responsibility to whoever the leader is. Since you are either...
-lazy
-have no clue where to camp
-what mob to hunt
-what job and attack/support needed for such mob
etc

The current system is too passive, we also need an active way to search for party members as well.
IMO able to look for party leaders is important, but allow a way for party leaders to actively search for their potential members are even more important. Leaders have the right to choose what and who they invite, without having people popping in and out of their party like the current system...

ps: my 1000th post, yay

To add to those, if you can get this DeLorean up to 88 MPH, you'll be able to play this game in 2019 when they've finally implemented mounts.

how about this, 1 button that says LFG. when you press it it will automagically match you to another player also in LFG or a party that is not full.

problem solved.

oh wait... I just stole that from WoW... sorry....

I agree with the OP. People don't use the system at all, so how can anyone claim its working?
The only people recruiting for parties are JPs in LS parties that don't accept EN users.

Instead of trying to have 6 people understand the system (which has way too many variables to be that functional), why not leave this up to the party leader like it was on XI? He could still leave the party pen for new members while they play.
