There I was, eating breakfast at the table with my fiance, sipping my coffee, eating my eggs. She was reading US Weekly (she has no shame), and I was sifting through yesterday's mail. I came across a large envelope that, despite the huge 'DO NOT BEND' stamped on it, our mail carrier had or course shoved in the mailbox like stuffing in a turkey.
It had been so long since I sent off for it, it took me a second to realize what it was. But as I opened up my Right of Passage, I heard my fiance say, as if from a distance, "Man, what a goofy little smile you have right now."
I guess I was looking forward to that more than I realized.
