Great - need horn glue now to repair my oak cane. So I'm a 30 crp with tons of growth formula alpha, which is now, near worthless, but at least I could purchase that from npc in a pinch. Horn glue is a 24 synth alc, which in itself sucks, so guess I need further level acl ><. According to YG today horn glue selling 10-20K EACH, which is as much as I paid for my **** oak cane. Also, all the excess branches I just npc'd over the last couple days, well looks like now they have a repair purpose - nice. Not to mention all the aldgoat horns I've npc'd since playing this game. Just wonderful.

Does anyone know if horn glue can be purchased from an npc now?

Well there is an alterntive to this price gouging, I'll make disposable oak canes, or find another weapon. This is just plain ******** the way they change this.

I guess SE wants to shove crafting further down our throats.

It's like they've never even played the game they're designing. I'm convinced they have a Janitor coming through the office making arbitrary changes. I will be shocked if the new development team doesn't purge the repair system entirely, it has to have been partially responsible for a significant number of people that have quit.

I will praise the day if SE ever decided to scrap the repair system. But unless they do it or announce it soon I will move on to better games.

I'm a bit concerned about these changes. For a lot of items, the repair process just got that much more onerous. Whether it's glue to repair this or whetstones to repair that, the last thing I ever expected SE to do was make the repair system MORE of a pain in the ***, but that's exactly what they've done.

Next they'll do an update that makes it so you can only repair an item with another of the same item; paradox ensues.

yeah I cant comment about the other growth forumulas, but alpha was cheap for a repair mat. I guess they changed it to keep things consistant. I'd love for them to take GFA off of NPC vendor list though, so those who stocked up can hope to sell it one day.

Why would you vendor an aldgoat horn? They vendor for like 500 gil, but sell through the wards for 10k each in an instant.

If it makes you feel better, stock up on lightning shards then overcharge people in a few days when they realise the formerly worthless shards now are required to make shards into crystals... That should sate your temporary revenge for the change that has so dreadfully affected you...

IT really does make the game annoying.

This might be an extreme idea. but I feel they should let NPC repair to 100%.
Make the prices for repair cheaper and the durability of at least weapons needs to last longer.

To me repairs really kill the flow of the game thats already got many other issues that intrude on gameplay.

If they omit repairs altogether I would be happen. But I won't hold my breath for that one.

Not surprising to see the OP and most of the thread Defaulted and Sub-Defaulted. I honestly don't know how SE is getting useful Feedback out of the present community, cause if this board is any indication, most of them are very of touch with the problems in the game, what a more mainstream population is going to be demanding, and what it's really going to take to make the game a success.

I will have to say: At least they made ragstone less of a pain in the rear to GET from the T2 quarrying nodes. I was dreading trying to find it as I had only found one in days of leveling miner around camp drybone. I was rather relieved to walk away with 8 pieces of ragstone in just a couple cycles around the area.

Just a final observation and comment on this - I can make an oak cane for 1K, which is about going price for GFA my server, 2K if I buy from npc. I'm a botanist so I harvest the oak log. This morning horn glue was selling 10-20K each. You think SE's got this a little wrong when the repair costs 10-20 X the cost to make the weapon. My god ><. Sorry, I'm still fuming on this.

Spent all day leveling alchemist to 20. Cooked up my first batch of horn glue with max support and food with 1 durability remaining lol. Yay for me.

10k-20k seems to an over exaggeration. Looking at YG it sells for an average of 7.4k global.

Pre or post patch, aldgoat horns were selling fast or instant. It doesn't waste your bazaar space that long, just set it at the right price.

If the selling price is truly 10-20k on your server, you should start making and selling them, alchemy is the easiest mindless craft I've ranked up. 1-12 distilled water, 12-20 crystals to shards and at 20 with support and decent gear you can make horn glue. The hippogryph talon is cheap, people get tons from behest, goes for about 2k on my server. 5 water, 5 fire, mudwater 153g, talon 2k, 3 aldgoat horns = 120-240k revenue. Even if your horns costed 10k to buy, you'd make a killing profit in 1 low rank synth.

Now that you have alchemy at the rank, you need aldgoat horns, you will see how hard it is to find, because they sell fast. Go out with a class that has incapacitate skill and kill some billy's, the drop rate is not bad at all. I use my R23 Puglist to farm horns. Horns seems to fall at about 800-1000 damage, 3-5 Concussive Blow II.
