So i'm thinking my security token just broke or ran out of batteries, but is there any way to get a new one? Can I unregister my security token on my character?

You will likely have to go through SE's phone customer service or billing to get the token removed.

^This - As you'd need to use the token to log into the members page. Their phone number is listed in the Info Sticky, but I believe it's Mon-Fri hours.

Yeah, and their hours are from about 3:36PM to 3:49PM...

Or M-F, 9-5, I think.

Is there even a way to tell if the batteries are going low? I've had mine for what's probably almost 2 years now, so I'm a bit worried about the battery running out without warning to unlink it in time. :s

I'd buy another token if I could, but all my FAFSA money is reserved for school now, and I don't have any money left to spare for anything else, not even a token.

My dog (Doberman) ate one of my keys. He grabbed it, and "CRUNCH!!" and a few seconds later, when I got it out of his mouth (much to his disappointment, I'm afraid) I realized the screen was completely destroyed and unreadable.

I went to the SE account website, Went to the Lost/Stolen Key section, and created a trouble ticket. I filled in all the information, including credit card and payment info, etc.... I called in, referenced the number, the fellow verified all of my info, and then promptly moved it to the key that I got with my Collector's Edition of FFXIV.

Total downtime was less than 30 minutes. No withdrawal shakes necessary.

HTH!

This just happened to me last weekend, accept that mine broke friday night after SE tech support was closed, so I was SOL for 3 days. :(

The only way to get it resolved is to call SE, there is an option on the support page for email support, but all they'll do is send you an email saying you need to call.
