Hello, everyone. My wife and I finally broke down and bought two copies of FFXIV (that's right, I've been lurking on the forums of a game I didn't own for months) and we're having a great time, already having made a couple of stories for ourselves as we explore the confusing-but-compelling mechanics firsthand.
The game -- though, of course, still lacking in certain ways -- is vastly improved since we played in beta and, although we still sometimes get disconnected, the sheer amount of free play time has rendered complaints unnecessary, and we were surprised to hear that another little update is coming tomorrow.
Being very long-term FFXI players, we joined the Selbina server, which has thus far seemed surprisingly (and pleasingly) populated despite what I have heard others saying.
At any rate, I simply wanted to extend our greetings, to say that the game now has population +2 (soon to be +3 once my wife's mother hears about it), and to say "hello" to those AFK fellows I recognized from my reading of these forums.
See some of you in-game, and speak with some of you out of it,
Kane (and Emi) Aubade.
