So I'm at the point now where I have enough guild marks for various crafts where I can purchase abilities and such. My main craft job is carpenter, and there are categories that are specific to carpenter only, like plank laying etc. However, some of the categories appear to be shared or common with multiple jobs, like bowery, and I can buy these abilities with other than carpenter guild marks.

My question is (and sorry but it's noob), if I purchase, say, bowery with tanner guild marks the ability still applies to carpenter, right?

There's actually a lot of cross-class abilities. Dying, Cobbling, Glovemaking, Hatter, Smelting, Tacklemaking (?), and Painting are a few that come to mind. As usual, Cooking is the odd duck that doesn't appear to have many (any?) abilities that can benefit other classes. I know my armorer has benefited from this, as I picked up Cobbling with my leatherworker guild marks.
