I played on Rabanastre but stopped playing about 2 months ago due to a lack of content and since then I've been playing cataclysm. Have the patches brought people back and are the servers healthy? I'm thinking of giving it a try after the new patches but I'm just curious to how the populations are doing.

And please, can I get some honest answers. I know there are some people on this forum that will say with a huge smile on their face that server populations are higher than they've ever been even if that wasn't the case.

I am on Beseid and you can honestly not see a huge drop in population here
around all the guilds(with a few exceptions)youll see dozens of people
around each used camp youll see alot of active players(mainly the 1-30 camps)

my LS also has a good 40-50 active players

While I don't keep tabs on server populations at any points in time, I would say they have been pretty decent. Rarely am I walking around where no one is near me. I have actually managed to get more groups for behest than I have in the past which has been quite surprising.

Rab is pretty active IMO. All cities full every time I'm on. Even if I have to make a delivery to a random camp like Broken Water, there's always someone there.

I'll agree that Rabanastre seems to be decent for population. The cities and the aetheryte camps I frequent (10s-30s) seem to be busy

Figaro Server seems to be doing pretty well too, Behest parties are pretty plentiful.

Like the others, I haven't seen a real dip in population, but I'll be honest: Since you left, Square-Enix removed the ability to see how many people are online and in your area. So I really don't know for sure.

I find Rab to be active - populations are definitely about 1/2 of what they were at release - but my feeling is they have recovered from the lowest point which was before the first big patch in November.

Sometimes there are so many people at R30 camps at behest time that not everyone can participate.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

I have no complaints from Selbina; I've met/encountered tons of people wherever I've gone, and I wander around a lot.

Mysidia seems very active every day. There are many people at all of our usual gathering spots.

On the lower level behest, I can generally solo or have 1-2 other participants, on the higher level behests, I find at least 5 people on a typical behest run.

I've got two linkshells, both are more active than they were a month ago.

Really can't tell ya anymore since SE took away the global search function, I'd say the servers are less than launch and maybe up to 1st week of Nov numbers.

The updates brought some people in, but i know of at least two personally who stopped playing after the updates. I'd say the populations aren't hemorging anymore, but they are not growing either. The real test to populations will be when SE starts charging people.

Since the UI update, servers have been more active in my in mind. There seems to be more activity at the Level 20 camps and 30 camps, especially Horizon and Bloodshore. Behest parties get full in no time, and we often have to refuse a few people. The worst period was definitely about 2 weeks in until that update came, it was terrible. Most of those camps were flat out empty.
