Just for fun, my Christmas present to you all is... a poll about Christmas presents!

How will your new presents affect your FFXIV playtime?
I didn't get any games that would affect my FFXIV playtime (or, I didn't get any at all).:38 (45.2%)
I got some new games that might distract me, but FFXIV will still take up most of my gaming time.:16 (19.0%)
I got some awesome new games that will split my time about half and half between FFXIV and my new ones.:5 (6.0%)
I might be playing FFXIV on and off, but my new games are going to take most of my attention away.:6 (7.1%)
Final What? I can't hear you over my awesome new games!:19 (22.6%)
Total:84

Feel free to list what new games you got, if you want. Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah/Happy Solstice to those who celebrate them. I wish you all the best of fun with your gaming, the best of health for you and your family, and I hope that everyone is having a relatively enjoyable holiday season.

I'm restricting my playtime to leves only, so I'll be playing LOTRO, Cataclysm and Rift.

...then you would post how it will affect your FFXIV playtime :P

My fiancee asked for Cataclysm and is installing it now. I'm installing New Vegas.

No games for me, but to be fair my family hardly knows what to get me so its really for the better. Made a way with a tool chest that was much needed so i'm more than content. So ffxiv has nothing to fear from anything new pulling me away from it :P.

I actually resubbed to STO. I can't get away from it, I'm a Trekkie ><. Amazon is having a digital sale right now, STO standard for $2.50 and the Digital Deluxe for $5. Picked up the deluxe for the 30 days and in game goodies and added it to my old account. I originally left it because it's not a very good MMO. It still isn't a very good MMO, but it does make a fantastic single player game, so I'm now playing it with that mindset. I'm still going to play FFXIV since I do like it and also lead a LS here, can't just be going and abandoning people now. Bascially STO gives me my Trek fix, and FFXIV gives me my MMO fix. Good deal for me I think.

Voted for the first one, on account that I had already quit FFXIV. But I did get the Witcher, Disciples 3, and I'm holding out for more stuff from Steam.

No options for those of us who got more practical gifts for the holidays? Sign me up for the 'I'm still playing older games wishing FFXIV had been a early Christmas gift' option...

Family at Chrsitmas is a Dec 24th event for us and each year my mother gets a long list from all of us (4 children and their spouses (my 3 sisters are married... I am not) and 6 grandchildren and a girlfriend to one of the boys) needless to say the lists can get extensive with the kids. So I wasn't expecting any of the games that I got that were put on my list... Sims 3 World Adventures as well as Assassins Creed: Brotherhood.

So Christmas in my family is a zoo of 16 people all opening gifts at the same time and a lot of items not being recognised as being received... however each of the games was (mine and my nephews LOL) noticed by all... strange that.......

He just misinterpreted what you said; he took it to mean that you were hoping to get FFXIV as a gift from somebody, not that you wish FFXIV had been a better game.

No new games this year, due to me explicitly telling people not to get me games. But I did get the major component to building me a new airbrush booth. So once I get that built, and I will going back to building models for a good part of my day. So it does effect my FFXIV playtime.

Mostly this, but it can seem closer to splitting half/half sometimes. Picked up New Vegas a few weeks ago(Spent with early christmas money however so that countsSmiley: grin) I've gone through some stretches where I was pretty burnt out on FFXIV and NV became #1 priority. I'd only log in to run a quick set of leves all in 1 town and then log out to explore the wasteland some more. Though I guess FFXIV is more often the priority(or I try to make it so) and NV is the much needed backup for breaks and a change of pace.

I didn't get any games other than what I've bought myself. I got a ton of Steam titles, but nothing other than Risen (which I oddly enjoy so far) that I can't ignore for days at a time without forgetting where I'm supposed to go.
