Ideas for content? Follow

Well i was an optimist about the market wards when the game was first released.
But now i hate them so much. I really wanted to give it a chance but it just doesnt feel right at all. It feels like im forcing myself to have fun.

The lack of content is also bringing me down off this game real fast.
I have really only played Final Fantasy games ever since the FF1 for nintendo was released in the states.

And this game is really bad.

It has its lure in the beginning but now im almost r30 archer
and its luster is just dwindling fast.

I really wanna love it so much but i cant even fake it or lie to myself anymore.

This is my idea of something SE could do to keep me interested and keep me from searching for another online game.

~ Being able to Fight while on chocobos. and having real gear for them.
I think this would really set it apart from other FF's and bring a huge interest back to the game from people who have left already.

I also started this thread to see if other people had good ideas for content that could save this game.

I know theres some other 'mindblowing' things they could do
and im hoping they do bounce back.

Looking for other ideas from you guys

From all who have played ffxi, they have a **** load of content in that game. They could take that tweak it a bit and add it into ffxiv. Ya a lot of people will ***** about copy paste, but their is only so much you can do in games. I think it would be fine, get content in the game then a little bit down the line come up with new ideas..... for content. Sence the dev team is all FFXI peeps i will assume we will se this happening and i'm fine with it, i loved ffxi.

Do you think they haven't started work on any content prior to release that they need to resort to FFXI? and do you think its as easy as just pulling out some code in another game, slapping it into this one and that's it? either way, I'm sure they have content coming, just that it wasn't planned for launch, they thought they could mull people over with leves and the battle system. People didn't like leves too much as they got boring and repetitive at times and the battle system is still broken, dunno what they were thinking tbh, but content is coming...all I care about is a fix for the battle system and make party play the better option because solo is boring.

They will have to be big changes. Installing an AH would bring a lot of people back to the game but they need to make groundbreaking changes to the way MMOs are actually played.

They could install ideas like this and keep the old Beloved Final Fantasy content.

Ideas such as:

1) Fighting(active mode) while on chocobos.

2) A 'Fantasy page' that documents achievements and acts like a social network Facebook of sorts.

3) The first Online game with a political system, that works off your 'Fantasy page'

These types of Changes would allow them to reuse all the beloved final fantasy nostalgic emblems and set it apart from every other online game that's ever been.

I can't tell if you are trolling or just seriously missed that there is already an official FFXIV page that tracks everyones progress and achievements.

...and political system? No idea what that means but if you want politics and corporation espionage I suggest you go check out Eve online, it's hardly a new concept.

and why do you send me a link to the lodestone homepage?

To tell me about the the amazing Heavensturn and the Usagi Kabuto!!?

Well i know they track everyones progress. but putting more emphasis on it and making it more of a social network is something that could help set it apart.

Using it for more than a tracking device on your character

The development team is the same, just the ones in charge of certain things were moved around and someone new added, they said they already had content for at least a year including expansion ideas in the pipeline from an interview this past summer iirc.

Changing the development team doesn't mean that they didn't have content planned nor does it mean that all the content that was planned is going to be completely changed. Chances are, the powers that be at SE just felt that the last development leaders weren't producing the results that they were looking for. Much of the content that has been announced in the past will probably stay the same with the next few updates, but I wouldn't be surprised if they throw us some loops that we never expected.

They brought on some of the leaders from FFXI, probably in hopes of getting the prospective of people who designed their last successful FF MMO. SE also brought in some new blood in the hopes of bringing a fresh prospective to the game. I see huge changes coming rather soon (at least in the next 6-9 months); some perhaps coming completely out of left field.

It's all rather exciting!

Make a Big bad *** dragon, then set him to attack each capital city every hour, and give a 15min warning before the dragon attack's, then give him 9999999 health, and 99999million mana, and make his def so high, that everybody hits him for 1-10Hpmax, but his attack only hits between 100-5000 single target, if people cant get him down after half and hour, the dragon wipes the entire server and give's EXP debt and 100% Armor dmg :)

That should keep the "Hardcore" crowd busy for a few lol

My content ideas...

NPC quests - Now these are nothing like leve's each city has several npc's dedicated to npc quests the player starts off being able to get small quests so lets say kill x mob or craft x item or even deliver x item to x city, something for a nominal reward. They then build up favour with that npc or that 'guild' that favour can then net you larger quests like mini epic quests so instead of 1 easy quests you have a string of quests so lets say 5 quests to complete it so quests 1 - 4 have not so great rewards but the 5th quest has a nice piece of gear or large volume of money as a reward. Each city has its own npc guild with easy to mid level quests and a couple of hard ones but the bazaar's outside of the main cities have other npc guilds which offer mid to hard quests and exta hard (ie large group quests).

Garlean raids - Maybe something can be done where the player group's can go 'raid' Garlean controlled territory a randomly generated dungeon so it's different everytime, either ends in a boss fight or a objective has to be met like sabotage x amount of buildings, weapons etc and the reward is random piece of Garlean gear with full sets available to get.

Chocobo Races/training - Have a player able to catch and train wild chocobo's let them be able to race them at certain events throughout the week and also let the players own/run chocobo stables where the player can train the chocobo resulting in increased abilities like faster running, more stamina etc.

Ok some of you might have issues with these ideas but lets keep em objective pls.

Id like to see something like instanced leve dunegons, maybe just 1 slot per 36 hours that has you seek out a few mini bosses before taking out a major boss. Also maybe something like the collesseum or the saucer from FF7 where you fight solo against some mobs for loot or rewards. Also maybe some more funny / quirky stuff to make it feel more like final fantasy

I'd like to see NPC interaction and stuff to do outside of leves.

Less streamlined do-at-your-own-pace kind of stuff.

Challenges that make me actually feel like there's a big difference between failing and succeeding.

Story about the world and within it. Like quest-lines that have a beginning and an end.

Use of all the available elements like moon cycles, weekdays, character birthdays, nations, proper food use, weather and so forth. All those should have some effect on the game stats.

Chocobos. I want them to be useful. I can zap anywhere within seconds so they need to have more uses than just transportation.

Same goes for airships. XIV doesn't need them for the same purpose XI did.

Less rewards for everything.

What I DON'T want is a cookie when I get my character killed.

Overall less repeatable stuff and more things that make me feel like I've accomplished some goals for good.
