Does something happen when you move from R10 to R15 synths? I had been crafting with at least 95% success and then at R15 local leves, fail fail fail fail fail fail fail fail Oh I migh-FAIL.

My experience is with cooking. I have a level 11 skillet and I use harmonize. What happened to take my pleasant experience with crafting here and take me back to my OB feelings on crafting????

I'm doing local leves. Can't imagine wrong recipe would be the issue there. :/

you can equip 2 skills after R10, I believe. If you are not equipping that second skill it would help explain why it is more difficult for you. The difficulty of the synths will be tuned up - but you should be able to match that difficulty tune up with a second crafting skill. I suggest the R10 Alchemy skill preserve both because the skill is AWESOME and because it is disgustingly easy to get R10 alchemist.

When it comes to sitting around not doing anything for long periods of time, only being active for short windows, and marginal changes and sidegrades I'd say FFXI players were the perfect choice for politicians.

Well, it really depends on the item you're crafting for the leve. Depending on the actual level of the item, which you can check on the ZAM/YG/FFXIVPRO databases, you may be crafting an item that is meant for a Rank 15 crafter to do, which, at Rank 11, is doable with the right gear, support, and a bit of luck...or you may get an item that is meant for a Rank 17 crafter and be blowing it up all the time. You may also be crafting items that require a secondary crafting job to be a minimum rank as well.

When you're unsure of an item's difficulty, just check it up!

If you are 11 doing 15 leves, the recipe might be like r17-18. Before you accept the leves, use the database here or at YG to determine if the synth is close enough to your level to bother with. If it is more than 2-3 levels above you, you may have some trouble completing synths. Also, sometimes the leves require the crafting support. Make sure you get the right one.

Maybe grind out a few ranks with easier recipes then? To be honest I have done maybe 3 crafting leves, but didn't have any issues just grinding LW. The physical XP gain is fantastic when done that way.

Keep in mind the R15 recipes are from 15-19. Once you clear 10 and 20 the actual requirements start to matter.

DOH like DOL, DOM, and DOW jobs all are helped by skills learned from other jobs.

Harmonize for me is near the bottom of the use barrel.

I am more inclined to use Preserve (Alc 10),Maker Muse (BS10), and Tender Touch (Carp10). They will make your life easier.

You will also find some recipes are just easier than others. I haven't done any Cooking leve so I don't know where to point you.

Rank up! You made my day sir, just as I'm about to go to bed at..5am in the morning? :-)

Speaking of the time, I actually found it hard to word what I wrote for a while.

Of all the rank 10 abilities, Harmonize is probably the most useless. For starters, it only applies to one action. There's no way to gauge the most effective time to use it and right now there's not even a clear explanation for exactly what it does. "Reduces risk." We can assume it's referring to the risk of an element destabilizing. But since the dev team under Tanaka couldn't tune an entertaining mini-game properly to save their jobs lives, you end up with a one-shot ability that doesn't ever really seem to do a whole **** of a lot for you.

What I would recommend is using Preserve (rank 10 alchemy) and either Maker's Muse (rank 10 blacksmith) or Fulfillment (rank 10 leatherworker). Tender Touch (rank 10 carpenter) has actually come to be a mainstay on my bars for any class because it's the most clearly beneficial rank 10 ability currently in the game.

And yes, the degree of irritation frustration rage difficulty does ramp up in the rank 15-20 stretch. The consequences for not having any training recommended by a recipe will become more apparent, the rate of failure on an action-by-action basis will increase, consumption of blood pressure medication will increase, etc. etc. It's just an all around **** system right now, and the fact that I prefer it to grinding SP on a combat class...whew. Yoshida really has his work cut out for him.

Having some gear with the right crafting stats helps you out as well.
