Is anyone having issues with crossfire on FFXIV?
I have 2 5830's and they seem to not be working with FFXIV in Fullscreen.
Should i be able to run all settings max or are my cards too slow?

I don't xfire or SLI, but I've heard many people say they have a lot of problems with it. All I can really do is assure you that you're not the only one with issues. People seem to have to do a lot of tweaking / driver stuff to get it working smoothly.

I don't have crossfire, but I know if you go to ati website they have ATI Catalyst Application Profiles that are made for crossfire and ffxiv, and various other games. Description reads: - Final Fantasy XIV – Forced on Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center has been disabled; as a profile. I don't know if this is your issue but might want to dl it and see if it fixes your issue. Profiles dl can be found at the bottom of the page, where you dl drivers for you video card.

ATI Catalyst Application Profiles 0.5 MB 10.12 12/3/2010
Description:
This release of ATI Catalyst™ delivers support for the latest ATI CrossFireX™ profiles in a separate executable file ensuring users have access to the absolute latest set of profiles installed on their PC.

New profiles added to this release:
- HomeFront – Improves CrossFire performance
- DvaMira 2.0 (Russion version of Two World 2) – Improves CrossFire performance
- Final Fantasy XIV – Forced on Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center has been disabled
- Track Mania Nations Forever – Forced on Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center has been disabled

Hope this helps. If not you may want to try posting in the forums there, I know people do talk about ffxiv in the forums, make sure you search first or people will yell at you... ; ;

I use crossfire and run the game on 3 monitors.

I was unhappy with the stock software for it and so now I use radeon pro.

http://www.radeonpro.info/en-US/

With it you can force crossfire on any game or application. Works wonderful.

I really doubt you will be able to run everything maxed. I have the same CPU (i7930) as well as dual 5870s and can't run everything maxed with an acceptable frame rate. I did run everything close to max (no ambient occlusion, and a few other things scaled down), but it seemed to increase NPC/PC load times significantly. I have also spent significant time tweaking drivers (both official and not) without much success. The CCC update for XIV seemed to cause more harm than good for me so idk. That's not to say the game doesn't still look amazing thou :)

this, the 10.12 drivers actually lowered my performance in XIV, though not 5770's, I run dual 5770's (one was free) with a phenom 2 965 cpu. I use radeon pro but according to msi afterburner I'm only using about 45% of each card anyway.

I use Radeon Pro

2x VisionTek HD3860 Cards

Use alternate frame rendering, Vsync forced off, AI advanced and force process affinity

Then use a logging program like Everest to check GPU temp/usage will tell you right away if both cards are getting work or not.

Latest 10.12 seems to favor my primary card more, so I'm back to using a modded 10.5 from Guru3D (GenetiX)

FYI using a custom profiler like Radeon Pro, I never install the crappy reg edits that ATI releases.

I have had issues with Radeon Pro not showing the GPU usages with the f8 key recently. That's why I log to check things out. In-game AA is usually better than forcing it through CCC or Radeon Pro imho.

Cheers

PS (sort of relevant) a hard drive can easily be the bottle-neck in new systems as well, if your GPU isn't topped and framerate seems iffy, look at a SSD for your OS and game, use a mechanical drive for storage. Load times dropped by 75% in my case.

Sorry for the necro, but I didn't want to make a new post for the same question pretty much.

Is Crossfire working naturally yet or is Radeon Pro still the only way to go?

Thanks
