So far since the last update, every time i log on i only see names and no characters in every zone. last 3 days ago i log off and when i log on same thing happen but also half my money disappeared, now today, i log on, half my money disappeared again, i see nothing but character names and when i try to enter market ward i got kick off server and a error said cant log to server, communication error. seriously WTF?

this game has become more of a burden, then amusing. and the support is half *** on this crap, only message i receive from them is "sorry to hear that your having trouble please refer to our online support page" like seriously, are they serious, ARE THEY SERIOUS. that where i reported this incident in the first place.

Never heard of this happening, was logged in as of last night and nothing of the sort happened.

Is it possible that your computer might not be running the game properlly?
Is it possible that your account is compromised?
Nah, just blame SE, it's all their fault...

How do you know your account isn't compromised? This seems to be isolated to your linkshell, does your linkshell use a website? Key loggers aren't usually detected by most virus scanners, so isn't it at least possible your linkshell webpage was infected by a keylogger and someone is milking your linkshell dry?

There was a small rollback a week or so ago, but that was documented by SE and only happened once. As far as the wards, they do crash a lot, yeah. But it doesn't mysteriously remove gil from your inventory. Make sure your missing gil isn't on one of your retainers as it may be possible that if the wards crashed right as you were transferring gil.

I always see names floating on the ground. Its a common occurrence. Sometimes the crystal never shows up for me as well. Still lots of bugs that need to be fixed. No idea, though, about you losing your gil. Maybe too much time in the miner's guild?? >.>

Yea this happens to me and my wife, 2 separate computers. Seems like it happens when I teleport to a camp or to another town. After doing a leve, and re-teleporting back to camp...everything is fixed. This been going on since the game came out...but got a little worse after the last set of updates.

This has been occurring since alpha, change zones, teleport, or log off and back on to fix it.

Camp Horizon's crystal never appears for me if I teleport out there.

no i have'nt sign up to any ls website, i dont really surf the web on my gaming rig. these issues occur after the recent update from december, since beta and CE launch i did'nt have these type of issues, and it was running fine, but then when i log on and the update installed, from this past december, everything has been out of wack. constant crashes, characters disappearing, currency changing, market ward crashing, i mean constant errors.

i check up on my video drivers, and my gaming rig and every thing runs in order, i only use my gaming rig for only two mmo, ffxi and ffxiv and ffxi runs smooth, no issues, but like i stated since december things have been awkward with ffxiv. if i do a quest and gain a reward, it disappears when i log off and log back on, and character just seem to disappear, with occasional random crashes and im hoping that my last option is'nt to reinstall ffxiv all over again.

Well, I'm just trying to help you figure out the problem. The crashing market wards and missing character displays are common, but disappearing rewards and gil are not common, that is what lead me to believe your account was hacked and someone was taking your stuff. There's more going on in your case than mere game bugs. When you say your quest reward disappears, do you log off or crash immediately after receiving the reward? Other than the one roll back, you shouldn't be losing anything if you properly log out.

It is entirely possible your game was corrupted during the update process which would cause you to crash more often than other players. If I were you I'd immediately change my account password, just because it's the easiest precaution. Have you updated (or changed) your video drivers since the update? Maybe the December update didn't like whatever drivers you're using. Then, I know you dread it, but I would reinstall. While the game does crash occasionally for everyone, the constant errors that you describe is far from the norm. So while there are some bugs and some crashing, your symptoms indicate that there's at least some problem on your end as well.

When things disappears, it could be a server rollback, have happened a couple times to everyone on my ls. Also, if you see the names in the ground or no aetheryte, that's lag. What I recommend, it's just restart the game.

Your account HAS been compromised. Its common RMT account theft practice to leave you half or more of our ingame money so that they can continue to "farm" your account while you are blaming it on the game devs.

Get a security token, either the one that came with the CE or ones available directly from SE work. Granted, if you have gotten viruses it means your PC is already effectively in the RMT's clutches, and you may also wish to do a complete wipe of your hard drives or just replace them altogether. A good virus is pretty much able to allow access to your system from the virus creator's, meaning they can just roll it back or reinstall it if you find it. Most of those viruses mostly come from downloading other things wantonly, and if you used any torrent other than the one in your default game files, it was guaranteed to be containing a trojan.

well i been using the token since ffxi, and i still have the new one from the CE and my password is reset everyone month, so i know it not that. only thing that runs on my system is ffxi and ffxiv, nothing else is added not even internet explorer, or any other type, downloads are from pol it self. so im guessing the last update might of either downloaded or installed corrupted might have to uninstall and reinstalled and see if it works. anyways thanks to the posters who actually had some good insight.

Not to nitpick, but if your OS is Windows, you must have internet explorer, it's part of the OS and cannot be uninstalled without seriously ******** up Windows.

Corruption explains the crashes, errors, and visual defects. But it does not explain disappearing gil and items. Other than the one roll back or possibly crashing as you obtain said gil or items, your account being hacked is the only reasonable cause for disappearing gil and items.

There's your issue...FFXIV doesn't use the PlayOnline Service.

And as Hydra said, removing internet explorer from a windows OS causes many issues.

That or the Dev team and SE employees secretly log onto his accout spend his gil and drop his items... cus that is the more likely reason amirite?

Also, if the crashes were occurring as you logged in, it was actually someone hijacking your login via a trojan on your computer. Generally crashes only occur ingame near certain problem spots or when certain actions are done in a certain order. For example, the spot where the bells are for the event items has some very bad code near it and will lag you like heck or even crash your game.
