Now that S-E has disabled our ability to see server pop...Follow

Are there any alternative methods for checking? It's obvious that the feature was removed merely to disable the remaining players from witnessing the continual drops in average server population per server.

Still, I'd really like to know how servers are faring, because if my server (Lindblum) is still dipping ever closer to less than 400 players online during peak times as it was before the server pop counter was removed, I'd rather be able to see the end coming for my server, or at least until server merges kick in.

I've been off of the game for a month now, but was thinking of getting back into again what with the new updates, but I don't want to waste my time if players are still quitting en masse. So, any types of sites up with accurate information on average server populations for FFXIV?

Thanks a lot!

Ok this is just an observation on my end and I am on Figaro. But from what i have noticed over the past 2weeks was actually more and more people playing and actively participating.

I cannot give a solid number but i do see alot more people online day to day on average.

I am usually play weekdays from 7pm-1230 am. On east coast time.

Not that I'm aware of, but honestly if server pops are dwindling, it hasn't affected my ability to quickly find a party.

the question i always bring to the table on this issue

who cares what the actual number of people on at a given time is?

as long as you are doing stuff with others, able to find them to do it with and so on, who cares what the actual numbers on are?

Well, the problem is that a few of my friends that have tried to play lately have had little to no luck with ever finding anyone within level range and/or the proper region's leves that they have to even party with.

There is plenty of reason to care about the server population; not so much numbers, but trends. Trends are important to monitor, because if it's still a continual downward trend as it was before the counter was removed, then we all know where this game is going.

That said, it doesn't seem to be possible to find out through external means as I'd hoped, so I'll just have to give it another chance and see how it goes.

In case anyone does have access to a site that tracks such information, please post it here. Anyway, thanks for your time, everyone; it's much appreciated!

I constantly see requests in my LS of 69 people (yeah, I know, funny number) for levequests, and our numbers are increasing daily back to the point where we will be full again (we had to remake the LS due to all the inactives and not having a way to give them a boot to the head.)

You can get a general idea just by creating a new character and seeing which servers have 2 or 3 bars.. and which ones have 1 bar.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm beginning to lag like a **** more and more lately. I got my first D/C due to R0 two nights ago, and I have to camp the Battlewarden if I want to get into a Behest. Color me crazy, but that doesn't sound like a dying game or dwindling population to me...

I think server population is kind of a relative thing. Some people will respond on this thread about how crowded their camps are, how active their shell is, how packed Ul'dah is....

My shell is really active on Istory, but it should be...there are only probably 10-15 shells left on the server..(there are more but during the time i play there are only about 10 or so different shields around..)

Most people say they see a ton of ppl on because they are at the r30 or r40 camps. And I agree those camps are packed all the time. That's because the majority of players are in that rank range. Go to an r10 or r20 camp. Only people there are the ones afk'n till behest or turning in leves. I've been ranking some low level jobs and every behest is no more than 3-4 ppl.

I'd say the servers have stabilized. But Christmas break is over for high school students, and almost over for most college students. So those high numbers since dec patch that people see may have just been that, kids out of school.

Lastly, even though I'm really interested in server pop, in all reality it doesn't matter until they start charging. Because right now we all play for free. People who play just because their buddy does, or play because they think the game will get better and they log in to do leves probably won't stick around once it starts to cost them money to play. The real test of FFIV will be when it becomes P2P.

At the moment if it were to go that direction, I know I wouldn't pay SE, and a lot of my friends wouldn't either. But i'm optimistic that this ship can be righted and SE will have a great game like XI for me to spend the next 5-6 years enjoying. If they don't, no skin off my back i'll find another game company to take my money, and a game to take my time.
