If I remember correctly before the SP update it had an effect on the SP you got as a DoW and DoM class correct? Now it doesn't effect one because it's a set amount right? So now most people don't bother to repair anything other than their weapon.

My question is, how does damaged gear effect a DoH or DoL class if at all? Is there a difference in the SP one gains or maybe what one manages to produce/harvest?

Depends on the craft. I usually craft naked just because gear is essentially worthless in this game unless you're going to be taking damage. Grinding Copper Rings and Willow Masks doesn't really call for much support.

Still, if you're doing something over your rank or aiming for a higher quality, the stats matter. Damaged gear would essentially lessen any benefit from that gear to the point where it was void at 0%.

For DoL, the stats help in what you get, how many tries you have to pull up an item and at what quantity they drop in. So again, if you're just grinding not that important.

As for damaged gear DoW/M. In a party situation where the mobs still die in a few seconds it may not be noticeable but solo damaged gear will slow you down by less damage or need to allow HP to heal, thus lowering SP/Hour.

It's been said that SP median in crafts is proportional to the relative quality of the craft, so it that sense, yes, indirectly gear damage effects SP gain (through stat reduction -> influence on control/craftmanship reduces quality gains)

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've been churning out leves as a Botanist and didn't notice any difference in SP gain with damaged gear but just wanted to be sure.

wait what???

The durability of the gear now affects the base stats, i.e the control+ and craft+? Since when? I know that weapons lose main stats, i.e ACC, ATK, CRIT, and on tools, CRAFT, CONT, MAG, when they lose dura. But since when have base stats gone down on gear?

Cause I've had a 0% peice of armor that adds 4 STR and when it was back up to 100% the STR didn't move, I've also done that with my crafting gear.

So to the OP: That's why ppl only repair their weapon because ARM doesn't matter unless as stated you're getting hit.

Uhh yeah that link stats exactly what i said, for gear your DEF, EVA, and MDEF go down as the gear wears, but you're HP+ and MP+ does not. So that sounds like what I said happened when I repaired 0% gear. I was still getting the full affect of the +stats (at least according to my stats menu) and when I repaired them the stats stayed the same. Hmm, know what I've got a piece of gear that gives HP+ that is currently yellow. I'll check some stuff and see if DMG affects the +stats on the bottom with dmg cause i swear it doesn't.....however, i could be wrong.

Yep I checked today as I had feet go from 100% to 0%...The bonus stat on the feet was HP+17 and no matter the color i always got HP+17.

So like i said Durability does not affect the bonus stats that a piece of gear gives. So if you not getting hit go ahead and run around with a 0% dura on a piece of gear cause it doesn't matter, you'll still get your + stats.

I am 99% certain that Ezel is correct.

Gear damage only affects the primary stats on weapons and armor. This includes attack and accuracy for weapons, craftsmanship and control for tools, and defense and evasion for armor.

The bonus stats on armor (+craftmanship, +gathering, +hp, +str, etc.) are not affected by gear damage.

So if you have completely broken crafting gear or gathering gear (not including tools), you won't suffer a penalty for the stats relevant to the job.

Everything else should be kept repaired though.
