Cool to see that place and the GM.

It's questionable to congratulate on this as you probably did something iffy to get there.

Sigh I only wish I could be a di** in /shout so I could see that area in my game too. =)

I remember the "What's your DEF" vid from like 5 or 6 yrs ago about a guy in FFXI jail. The GM/Jailer or w/e had the exact same gear on.

You can be sexually abused in prison!?

SE went all out on creating an authentic jail-experience.

At the end of the video it says this happened on Jan 7, 2010. Must have been some sort of crazy GM time travel.

Only if you tell them you are a 12 yr old girl.

I saw a GM once. I got stuck in a tree and within 5 minutes he got stuck in the tree too. We was inside each other for a good bit until he got help to get us both out.

Since there aren't any moghouses yet, that place actually looks quite appealing! You think they'll let me bring some furniture along to decorate the cell?

The GMs forgot to register thier bonus furniture item codes before creating their characters

*edited for spelling, and most likely still failed*

How do you get a GM ingame? There are so many obvious RMT bots on the Palamecia server that the botters don't even bother to disguise the fact they are botting anymore. Yet reports to the "Special Task Force" still has yet to see anything done about it. In almost every other MMO i've played the customer service button usually gave you an in-game GM response within hours if not sooner for serious offences like these

Odd, I've reported several RMT to GMs and THEN to STF website... almost all of them are non-existant anymore. There were a few that I failed to record doing anything resembling botting though so that could be why those ones still exist.

They prefer the discreet approach. No Red armored gm is going to pop in and swing the banhammer. The bot will be gone by the next day with two new ones in its place.

Yet there's still the most obvious bot in the world named Both Sunboy on Figaro who's still botting around Gridania since last week when I reported him.

I sent this video to STF, feel free to search my server for either of the bots... they no longer exist. My alt exists on lodestone and I deleted it a few days ago. Deduce what you will... I'd like to think SE took care of the problem, though it is possible the owner deleted the characters and tried again on a different server or at least a less obvious location....

Haha I used to love it when we camped NMs and there'd be a GM in covert watching for bots. And occasionally you'd get the random /s
GM: d
and then a histerical frenzy would break loose

What's the zone called btw?

I played a really popular (3000-5000 people on at all hours per server) RO server that had this. They also made it a PVP zone, so people could either kill the offenders in their cells (they automatically ressed so you could kill them again), or you could kill each other.

It was really fun. :D

Lol I was in Ul'dah yesterday when you were spouting off comments around town using '/sh'. It doesn't surprise me someone called a GM on you...I'm assuming thats why you got sent there? You weren't being obnoxious as far as I could tell, just slagging elements of the game off. I just thought to myself that I could block you if I wanted (didn't).

Anyway, its cool that we get to see that some people have to do porridge, and the vid made me laugh - looks like they are about to interragate you!

I have some good pictures of there on my PC I can upload later.

But the GM told me it was a "guest room" not a jail haha. He said I was not a criminal so is ok. (I had to go there to pick up items)

Oh and if your in the market wards they cant teleport you out. Not sure why, maybe retainers are kryptonite for GMs?

They should come in with the banhammer. Then players would know what was going on. I know I would be cheering on the mutha-whupping GM if one popped into skull valley and started smacking bots with a hammer. I would be dancing and cheering and taking screenshots.

It would be great customer relations.

lol that reminds me of an embarrassing MT of my own... I was talking with some other RPers in party chat about a piece of my character's (Mihana) past regarding her backstory/history. She had ran into some trouble in Limsa Lominsa with some guys but despite this, she never really had "done it". Well, throughout the night I would accidentally do an MT to LS chat, nothing serious or embarrassing at all, but I just kept typing /l instinctively. Well, as I'm talking about this I make a comment how I'll probably MT it before the night's end. So, as an example, I jokingly type out something along the lines of:

"Yea! Mihana never had her cherry popped yet!"

Expecting it to be in party. Yea... I end up mis-telling the joke example of a mistell to LS chat instead. I turned red and literally face-palmed. I've seen/heard others do worse but it was just classic to me... Talk about doing so, and without doing it intentionally, do just that. Smiley: eek

I posted this video on Eorzeapedia and one of the moderators got upset from the bit at the end and banned me. He's a die-hard fan of this game.

Wait! A gilsink opportunity. Make the public tours available for the jail, but a GM would sell vegatables that we could buy and throw at the folks behind bars and in the stockades. There'd be an auction every hour and the highest bidder could take the prisoner of their choice to 1 of multiple torture devices... Well I suppose that's why I don't create video games...

Lol, maybe someone with more cred (moderator) really could do it :D

Also - community service. Have them do a series of quests before they can rejoin the free people. So many (fun) possibilities for this actually. Wear prison rags while behind bars, have your offence displayed on your permanent record on Lodestone or something, 24 or more hours (depending on what you did) have restricted moving - like not being able to leave a city and for the ones awaiting imminent ban - put them on death row (bit brutal but just imagine their chars outside of city walls in stockades or suspended up in the air @___@).
Truth be told, I don't think they'd do anything that would really humiliate other players though, but it's silly fun to think about the options :P
