Hey guys. So, today I finally bought the game after a long time of waiting. After updating/installing the game, I was sent to the Square Enix website to create a "service" and add an "option". Alrighty, so I used my already created Square Enix ID to log in and no problem. However, when it asked me to select a payment method... problems arose.
First of all, what the heck SE? Why is it that payment is always such a hassle with you guys!? Not only speaking about FF14, but also way back in FF11. Let's not even mention the credit card "bans" back then.
Well, onto my problem, I tried first of all setting a direct payment method through my credit card. I was then transfered to Click and Buy's website, where I had to make an account. After making an account there and trying to log in, it said my account was blocked (for which reason, I may never know). It said that I had to call or e-mail them to get 'em to unblock it for me. ALSO, they are asking me to "verify" my account by calling my bank and seeing if I see 2 "dummy" transactions and reporting to Click and Buy those specific transaction totals. But of course, Click and Buy aren't open during the weekend, so gotta wait 'til Monday. And even then, I'm not sure how helpful they will be.
But, I'm persistent. So I decided plan B. Let's try this UltimatePay! Well, turns out they didn't want to complete my $5.00 transaction for a similar reason (I have to verify by calling bank, etc). And yes, I have used this card in the past to purchase things through Paypal (mainly in eBay).
And Plan C automatically failed, which was adding Crysta (since I had to use either of the above methods).
So, has anyone else had this problem? And what did you do? What would you recommend? I saw another poster mention some type of prepaid card, but he didn't elaborate much on them. That said, the ideal solution would be getting my CC to work since I wouldn't want to keep on buying cards over and over again. I'm so frustrated. :x
