Willing to give the game another try.Follow

I played the game back in the alpha and beta testing phases and found even then that it was just too rough to buy the game on release. It has been a few months and I would like to give it another go to check out the new content and adjustments. But before I lay down any real money for this game does anyone still have a buddy pass key they would be willing to PM me? It's a long shot but I was hoping that there would be a few still floating around out there. Thanks in advance.

Many of the UI problems have been greatly fixed but there is no new content since Beta.

There isn't much, but there IS new content. New recipes, new leve quests, and some NMs.

If you are starting from the beginning, there's plenty of content until they hopefully add new content. I'm level 33 and there is still plenty of content to keep me happy.

Game doesnt offer much. What content there is is just repeating the same stuff over and over. Crafting wise, that's fairly good if you like sitting and grinding out ranks. Then you got harvest which is just running around, hit shines and getting xp to rank up. that's pretty much it.

The game needs severe work done to it to make it fun. As it is now, it's not unless you get enjoyment out of repeating leves etc over and over and over.

I enjoy this game a lot, and I defend it from the people who bash it daily.

But unless you have a group of friends or an active LS to play with, if you didn't like it in beta, you probably won't like it now. I'd say wait until they add more content. The game itself is entirely playable. The combat system works, servers are stable, and many of the game's actual features work excellently. There's just not much to do outside of grinding leves, unless you have a group to leve link and behest with on a daily basis.

Let me define content :)

1. You have 2 main storyline quests at level 1
2. At level 10 you have another main storyline quest
3. At level 15 you have another main storyline quest.
4. At level 20 you have another main storyline quest
5. Each class you get to 20, you get a sub story quest. For example with me, I have done archer 20, archer 30, blacksmith 20, Leather 20 and carpenter 20
6. At level 30, you have another main storyline quest and sub class quests

You get the point.....This doesn't include the leves or the Notorious Monster quests or the Faction quests, Or any Holiday content they added the past few weeks.

Seems like the game has not changed enough yet for me to give it a chance. Oh well, worth a shot. Maybe when the PS3 version hits the stores.

bear in mind, a large content update is supposed to come soon (this month?)

If I remember right, weren't companies supposed to be coming in the next update?

they originally said the next big update wont be till march, but that was before the games staff was re worked, and since then it hasnt been confirmed to be on track since the new people might take the game in a totally different direction.

Smart move.

Unless you like doing the same limited quests over and over, a crapload of crafting, leveling up forever and a day to get to the next spot in storyline quests, Wash, wrinse, repeat... then I guarantee this game won't be too much more fun since you first tried it.

The NM and the small fixes they made to retainer markets are nice and all, but if you're expecting some good or even decent content to keep you busy you're going to get bored reeeeally fast.

Admittedly, some of these "sub story quests" are very sub, indeed. I'm thinking of Lancer 20 (sorry to spoil it for anyone), which consisted of two cutscenes, five minutes of running to a spot in the forest, and killing four easy mobs. Except for the cutscenes, which certainly took development time, this "storyline" could have been written on the back of a book of matches. If this is what passes for "content" color me unimpressed in the extreme.

I played OB. Cancelled my pre-order. Bought the game just before Christmas for $19.99. I'm really not playing now. It really is just a 1999-era grinder with 2010 graphics at this point.

how someone can enjoy this game with how limiting they made leves is beyond me. Cant say much for behest but what little i know of it, it's not much of an inprovement or anything. Guess some like extremely lacking games.

that's not much for content. this tells me that story content is still severely lacking and needs to be fleshed out severely. Game needs major improvements, changes and re-thinking. The whole 'landscape' and crafting(for the most part) are fine.

There's plenty to do...if you get bored that fast, this isn't the game for you. Neither will any MMO for that matter...You're better off playing Black Ops..

Endless crafting slowed to molasses by a RNG minigame and and endless population of Efts to kill does not content make, I'm sorry.

Your opinion. I've been playing MMO's for 10 years and I know the most important part of having fun in an MMO is the community. My LS provides this community and I enjoy running leves and behest with them, as well as chatting away while we grind.

And yet, you're still trolling about dedicated site to a game you don't enjoy just for the fun of it.

Nay, white knight. Trolling implies that one goes out of his way to be caustic, or unfair. Argumentative for the sake of it. I didn't realize I couldn't contribute to the dialogue considering I stopped playing this past week.

Someone offering cogent, honest and salient perspectives about an experience one entered with an open mind... No, I'm not a troll. I just have a different opinion than yours. And I really have no wish to see the game perish, unless that's just the best thing for the situation.

Anything else I can clear up for you today, WK? There's no Santa Claus or Tooth Fairy. No Easter Bunny, either. And Snape kills Dumbledore.

If this is all you are doing, than yes, I'd be bored too. Stop doing what the websites say you NEED to do to be the best player. Go explore....Cortheas is amazing..Mor Dhona is frickin scary....look in each cave...sometimes you'll be surprised what you find. Visit Ishguard. Poke a Mountain Peiste...There are tons of ruins to explore..

Then all mighty sire, can you please explain your so clever and informative point of view, preferably something new, which you have not presented to the masses before?

And by the way, since you appear to be so **** retentive, in no way did I even try to defend the game on my previous statement, simply comenting on you're still being around, as such I dont see why can me any kind of Knight!!

Teach me that trick :)

1. Activate ""Attack > Attack > WS > Attack > Attack > WS" Macro
2. Chat while macro initiates.
