To be honest, this might have been really helpful within the first week of launch.

as it is in the moment there are a lot more things that need to be clarified from the developers than this.

I agree with Hugus that perhaps this information would have been useful when we all started out...regardless, it does use the new UI interface for its screencaps, so more information for newer players is always good.

Seriously, they need to get other information out... like all the missing recipes that they don't have even on Lodestone or where to get the items for those recipes.

Really? This is what we get? This is what I check Zam for daily to see what SE has to tell us about the future and updates?

This is what SE tells us? Things that WE ALREADY KNOW? I've been looking so forward to some news, some poll results - anything, but well, I guess now I know it wasn't just anything I'd hoped for.

Thanks, SE.

Haha, Yoshida is a troll.
We really want to compete against World of Warcraft and for example the new Star Wars MMO.

I bet these beginner's guide things are just done by one dude who usually brings the coffees and takes messages but once every one or two weeks gets a day off to write and compile one of these guides

I think this is also the start of their plan to get more "tutorial" information in the game....

I know this is clearly stuff that WE already know.. but for a lot of people that have never played FFXI and perhaps never played and MMO... this sort of information could be useful??

Trying to stay optimistic....

Personally I dont think this info is worthless, just that 5 mins in game teach you the same or more!

I would think that explaining as much as possible what is the requirememnts to make HQs, inpact of some godsends and crafting mechanics, not instructions, would be much more appreciated by the comunity!

Either that or I'm into crafting way too much.. :)

I'm just happy to see a SE QA post again. Looking forward to more posts whether it be for new players or more in depth explanations of game mechanics!

I guess this is his equivalent of Rick-rolling...

Well at least they posted something... far too much tension is built up, after the survey. But till the 14th when it closes do not expect anything ground braking. Even then i don't expect anything but news for 1 - 1 1/2 months.

Part deux? There's seriously enough to explain and talk about to require a part two?

I would be happy with just about anything but this... how about as someone posted above - SE reveals all the new recipes?

I think they just put this out as a stop-gap between the last communication they did and their next big one.

Lately, I've been wondering what a day is like at SE's HQ for the XIV team. Obviously the game is in trouble and they have huge plans for it. Are they working 10, 12, 14 hour days to try and get this game back in shape? I certainly hope so. It'd explain why there has really only been the Beginner's Q&A lately and not the in-depth info they used to jump back and forth from when Tanaka was still in charge.
