Storyline Quest "Forever Taken," ideas?Follow

#1 Jan 11 2011 at 11:23 AM Rating: Decent
I am stuck on this quest. I tried getting to to spots from both Camps in Mor Dhona, and since I have never even been to Camp Crimson Bark, I tried to get there (since I heard heading to that camp then to Mor Dhona from there is supposedly the easiest way) but I cannot even make it to that camp.

Any ideas? Having this quest unfinished is bugging me to no extent.

You just have to move slowly and probably get hit once. Just stay far away from the toads, and even at rank 50 those pugots hurt a lot.

Could shout for a teleport there in town and offer big $$ knowing your going to get about a 120k gil reward from the quest if you absolutely can't do it though?

Instead of running to Crimson Bark, which can be fairly tough if diremites have popped there, just head straight to Murmur Rills. Its not too hard walking from Murmur Rills to Mor Dhona if you have any movement speed ability (Quickstride is what I used).
Besides that, you can also choose to enter through Coerthas. Its an longer route, but LS mates have said it is easier than going through Murmur Rills.

Before the Nov patch, I walked the north route from Crimsonbark. I don't have the map right now but I avoid the riverside route because of Hellbender, the North -> north then west route from Crimsonbark only have Vulture. If you have Velveteen gear on your Alc, you will have no problem going through the Diremite, they give a decent chunk of DEF. The reason why I chose Crimsonbark route because it will lead you right to the quest site in Mor Dhona, if you choose any other route you will have to dodge even worse Diremite and Rainbow Basilisk in Mor Dhona.

Ever since I have done the quest I have not run back through that route and people have posted new mobs are along that route now that 1 shot you. I can try to run back through that route and post another map if you want but I can not get back on-line till Thursday to try. Also I did not make a map of getting to Crimson Bark because nothing aggroed me along the way at that time. Let me try to make the run again and see if I can print something out to help.

I just re-ran this as a 21 pug. and only aggro'd two mobs. 1/12/11

I added two more maps on how to get to Crimson Bark.

The only mob that aggro'd me on-the-way to Crimson Bark was a dreadwolf that seemed to chase me forever! He hit me twice for 100ish each time. The time was :33 I think if you run around 6:00ish no dreadwolf will be up.

To avoid scout vultures DO NOT run directly into them you can run along the edges of the paths to avoid them and never ever stop running, to do this I did not use auto-run so I would not accidentally hit obstructions.

The water area had some Bark Efts but I did not get hit by a single one of them, again run along the edges to avoid running directly into them. If you do aggro them just never stop running and you should not get hit by them.

The other mob I aggro'd was a pteroctrap which did hit me for 742 but if I took my time I probably could have ran around it, and after only 1 hit it returned to its territory.

The only other mob that I saw could do damage was a few Hares with their sprinkler move, but if you just keep running or stop when you see them charging the move up and run back out of range you should not get hit by the amnesia move.

I did this quest last week and ran past camp crimson bark, from crimson bark take the north route, the south route has dragons and stuff. only things you need to worry about are birds which aggro, the roselings that aggro and the big toads. the birds(i think condors) and the roselings you can take a few hits before going down, roselings hit less hard I found so take path of least resistance when going past them. When you get to the toads you need to play to their aggro patterns by playing musical statues, and by that I mean when a toad aggros they jump up and down a bit, once you see them do this stay perfectly still and stop moving, eventually they will lie back down on the floor, then you can move again, they aggro you stop moving, continue doing this till out of their aggro range.
once you hit the upper elevation you are home free as all you will encounter for the rest of the quest are shrooms

Im not sure how so many people find this difficult. You can get there as a rank 1 with almost no problem

just be patient, run behind mobs that are sight, and wait for them to turn around if they are in the way (ex. raptors), and wait for sound agro stuff to move into a wall and then run along the other wall.

Efts will agro but they are -slow-. If you run past them just keep running and they will never be able to hit you.
